Why I’m Investing in Holozing Alpha Vials
Yesterday was the soft launch of Holozing's Alpha Vial sales, something I had been looking forward to since I started participating last year. Now, I'm a proud holder of two Alpha Vials.
One of them I got at a discounted price, while the other was purchased at the regular price.
So, how did I get a discount on my first purchase?

Back in December last year, there was a Bonus Reward event where participants could earn the 2023 Advent Calendar NFT by claiming their $ZING rewards during the month of December. I was diligent enough to open my rewards page daily and claim my $ZING, which allowed me to earn the NFT with a note that says, "Claimed On Every Day Of The Month."
This NFT is the Holozing NFT that gives holders a discount on their first Alpha Vial purchase. Since I earned the NFT with full benefits, I received a 31% discount on my first Vial purchase.

Why Buy?
A good question to ponder regarding this event is: why would a Hiver like me, who isn’t playing the game (yet), be purchasing these Alpha Vials?
First of all, I did play Pokémon on a mobile app before, where I would capture Pokémon just for the fun of going for a walk, lol. I also enjoy the thrill of discovering and capturing creatures, which is one of the key aspects of Holozing, among many others.
I mean, you can just tell from the quality of the artwork and the creature designs that they’re worth collecting. And since these are NFTs, you’re guaranteed that what you own in the game is truly yours, adding a real sense of ownership.

Another great reason to consider is that by purchasing Alpha Vials, you’re supporting the development of a project built on top of the Hive Blockchain. Yes, you are correct. 1 Vial is sufficient.
However, there are items that may or may not be included in the Vial; that's the capture device. This is something you will need to capture creatures. You will still be able to buy this in the Shop when the game launches.
I'm just buying a few more Vials to support the developers and also to speculate on the Alpha Vial's future secondary market value. 😅
Another thing to note is that even when alpha vials stop selling when the game enters beta and are replaced by beta vials (new starter creatures), you'll still be able to get capture devices there.
The main difference between alpha and beta will be the looks, we won't make capture devices "better/stronger" in the alpha compared to beta for instance. Even being able to craft capture devices players will be able to craft the same rarity/stats as those being sold so it's pretty much all about collector's choice and having a good start of the game with many items to aid your journey before professions are learned and skilled up, materials gathered, and eventually items crafted that match the ones that can come from the vials.
We don't want to make this a "pay2win" kind of thing where the project/company sells higher stat items just to fund the project, players will however need to burn zing in order to progress with professions and things all along while earning zing in different ways.
So in terms of the alpha vials, the looks themselves will be locked, beta vials will have completely different designs and even the capture device my not be a "handgun that shoots laser" but something else, hence the naming "device". ^^

I'd like to buy 2 Vials too, but to start off I just bought my first one with the 31% discount; now I think I'll wait a bit before buying a second one, because first I'd like to see Hive price rise a bit!

That's all I'm looking for! I feel that having a bit more items might come in handy if one doesn't find a capture device and needs to buy one from the market: at least you might sell some of the extra items you found in the Alpha Vials to gather the funds required to buy a capture device.

After SPL and GLG I have a simple rule: never ever buy game stuff on Hive anymore.
Maybe its not a good investment but did you enjoy the games?

You may not need to later on; most items/creatures/healers will be delegatable, but you may have to pay a fee to play to make it fair to those who bought the assets they're delegating you and to prevent abuse.
I believe SPL stands for Splinterlands, right? And what is GLG?
To be honest, I'm not fully aware of what happened or why you came to that conclusion. Could you please share why you think game assets/stuff are not investable?
I was so stupid/naive and bought some Splinterland (indeed SPL stands for it) cards 2021 at the top of the hype, and all lost most of their value.
Even worse with GLG - genesis league goals, a soccer NFT game from the makers of SPL. The potential with this game was huge, but the implementation was/is delayed, lack of marketing,... In summary, the packs wer sold early at 5$ (with rebate 4$) and are now worth less than 1 Hive (GMLSPA on H-E).

Exactly! If someone wants Hive to succeed, if someone loves being on Hive, investing time and/or money in Holozing is an obvious move. This project may become the engine for the whole Hive ecosystem.
Some people can't afford buying even one vial. But everyone can follow Holozing on social media and regularly support it on web2 with likes and shares. That is also important.

I feel that it has a good chance to reach SPL's level, mainly because of the team. The founder, artists, developers, and marketing team are all credible.

I have also been invested in this game since the beginning...delegating, purchased/staked tokens, liquidity in the pool, but in the year since then I've not seen much development outside of a few janky animation rig screenshots and a contest to make our artwork for us while the project lead has plenty of time to worry about what everyone else is doing onchain. When the next development is: here! Give us MOAR money! I'm out.
I appreciate you sharing your opinion about the game and its progress. I remember a roadmap was laid out back then. I haven't really checked, but I feel like the release of this Alpha pack was delayed or off schedule.
But it's here now, and some people, including myself 😅, participated by buying Vials. I'm not sure if the funding will be enough to continue development, but I'm hopeful that it will speed things up. We'll see how things progress.
