I am a member of the “Rafael Bolívar Coronado” Choir in my city - by @yusmi

Greetings dear friends of this great community to talk about experiences and anecdotes that we live every weekend where we expose little by little part of our lives in the Hive blockchain, I tell you that for months, specifically in the month of October the Simon Bolivar Orchestra System of my city called for auditions to the population with the idea of creating a choir of adults to work with the orchestral project which I attended with great expectations because I like to sing and my family also motivated me to sign up.

I attended on the scheduled date and I did my audition, I remember that I sang a Capella a song of Venezuelan folklore and then followed other applicants, I went home and a few days later I got a message telling me that I had been admitted to join the choir so I was very happy.

The first rehearsals

Once it was known how many people were admitted to join the choir, which until then had no name, the rehearsal days were planned, being Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. the established time for rehearsals. The rehearsals were in charge of the renowned music teacher Tirso Romero, an experienced teacher in the area of singing and choirs, who immediately started working with this group where most of them are not professional singers but amateurs.

The songs we practice are mostly recognized Christmas carols and aguinaldos of Venezuelan composers, since we are already in the Christmas season, so every week we rehearse between two and three songs in several voices according to the type of voice of the members between men and women ranging in age from 18 to 60 years old.

The day of our debut

It happened in the afternoon of Friday, November 29th a few days ago, the orchestra system was celebrating its 12th anniversary of creation in our city so we were invited to celebrate with them, several musical numbers were presented between instrumental and children's choirs of the music school Angel Briceño of the city until our turn came late at night.

Our director, Professor Tirso Romero, introduced us and baptized us at that very moment as “Coro de Adultos Rafael Bolivar Coronado”, honoring the writer of the Zarzuela “Alma Llanera” considered as the second national anthem. We sang three beautiful pieces and it was a very enriching experience that ended with a toast and a treat from the organizers of the event.Thank you for reading teacher Yusmi.
