Fair and birthdays

Once again I had a great weekend and I really didn't need many things to make it happen. On the one hand, there was my love for reading and on the other hand, the participation in a family activity. It is true that when you combine activities that nourish the soul and the spirit, the heart is grateful and life becomes fuller.

In this publication I will explain what gave me so much joy during the weekend and whoever manages to read these lines will understand the reason for my joy. Without further ado, here is my story of the weekend.

About the International Book Fair of La Havana. (FILH).

Cuba is an important cultural center. Numerous and varied cultural events give prestige to Cuban Culture. Among these are the International Dance Festival, the Salsa Festival, the Caribbean Festival, the New Latin American Film Festival, the International Theater Meeting. However, none of these surpasses in massiveness and scope the event of Cuban literature: the International Book Fair.

This event began last February 9 and will culminate in March in the province of Santiago de Cuba. Numerous workshops, colloquiums, symposiums, conferences and other activities will take place at the fair, but the fundamental event is the sale of books and this year more than four thousand new titles will be made available to the Cuban and foreign public.

Each year the fair is dedicated to literary personalities and to a guest of honor country and this year it is Colombia.

Saturday Fair.

On Saturday a group of colleagues from my work and I went to the fair. As part of our duties we went to complete a group of tasks and to fraternize with several colleagues and writers, about the achievements in publications and book publishing in the last year. Among the activities we carried out were:

• We visited several stands, to see possibilities of new work agreements.
• Meetings and exchanges with other publishers.
• Arrangement of workshops on editing and publication of scientific articles.
• Purchase of several books related to scientific activity and Geosciences.
• Exchanges of experiences with other writers.

We also enjoyed the different gastronomic offers and the architectural beauties of the main venue of the Book Fair, which is located in the Morro Cabañas Complex of the Cuban capital.

Birthday Sunday.

my nephew's first year

This Sunday will be remembered by my whole family for the wonderful day we spent. It is incredible what a child can achieve in people's souls. Let me tell you:

The youngest member of the family is named Aaron Antonio Oduardo Corona. He is a beautiful boy and like all children he spreads joy and affection everywhere. But, this Sunday was a special date for everyone: The child turned 1 year old.

Many activities were carried out. As a child at last the party was made thinking of them and sweets, snacks, cake, soft drinks, gifts, balloons and piñatas were not missing at the party. If there was one thing that those of us who are older forgot, it was how long it had been since we had played like children. It was nice to see my siblings playing hidden treasure, blind man's buffalo, and riddles. Also, the birthday had us singing nursery rhymes and birthday songs that seemed forgotten.

When the birthday was over, our faces were mixed between joy and nostalgia. Once again I experienced the happiness and peace that family brings. But in this case these feelings were multiplied because the reason that summoned us was a child.
I can only say: Thanks to life for the family it has given me.

Final reflection.

Once again I am living an intense weekend. Since the Covid-19 pandemic was brought under control, life has returned to a new normal in our family and we have decided to make the most of life and that has weekends as a priority. Having life and being able to enjoy it to the fullest is a gift that we must take advantage of.

This weekend I was able to do two of the things I like the most: to be with my family, which is the most important thing in my life, and to enjoy a cultural event that I like very much and that, in addition, has to do with part of the work I do at my workplace.

Monday has arrived and the daily work takes over, but in my mind and soul there are several activities planned for this weekend. If it can't be both days, at least one that reminds me that life is a permanent enjoyment.
