Ten HSBI and Two DUO Tokens Giveaway Week 42!

I hope everyone made it through Christmas okay this year, now we're on to New Years. It always seems to come so fast... I've learned that it's best to enjoy life while it lasts, because it really is pretty short!

Today is Sunday once again, and as always I will be doing my HSBI giveaway post. I also give out some DUO tokens and a legendary Splinterlands card as well (or two HSBI units.) This past week we had 23 participants in the contest who shared what their favorite treats were around the holidays. I'll highlight of few of these before jumping into the new contest for next Sunday.

Chocolate Cake

Chocolate cake was a popular pick, and with good reason. I think everyone loves a good chocolate cake, I know I do! Thanks for this choice @dewabrata and @ronnie10 ! The best part about it is that there are so many different kinds to choose from and they all taste great. From chocolate cheesecake to Black Forest cake, now I'm getting hungry!

Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin Pie was the pick by @ryosai ! I love it as well and as a kid, we always had it around the holidays. If you haven't tried it, it's awesome, I recommend trying it out! Especially with whipped cream on top, how can you go wrong there? In my family we usually had Pecan pie as well, very rich, but very good...

This was a pick by @whywhy as a Dutch specialty around Christmas. I have family from Denmark and also made these, not sure of the name in the Netherlands. These are amazing tasting pancake balls but much better than pancakes! I used to make them for my son, it's a family tradition. You really need a cast iron specialty Aebleskiver pan to make them and a good recipe which is easy to find online. They are worth it as they are heavenly tasting...

Chocolate and Chocolate Cherries

Chocolate covered cherries were a pick by @silvertop that he and @elizabethbit gave their kids for Christmas every year. I personally love these, and my parents gifted us these often at at Christmas time as well. They taste great, worth trying if you never have. I'll include this with the chocolate category because it was a popular one. Thanks also to @jpatrick28 and @mmoline (for orange chocolate, Terry's in particular.) If you haven't tired Terry's orange chocolate you are missing out!

The Giveaway

I will be giving out two prizes of five (5) HSBI. Third prize will be 2 DUO tokens, the token I recently launched with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman . It offers those who stake sufficient tokens daily curation on quality posts, dividends, and a tipping bot. It also helps to onboard and retain new Hive members. At the end of the post there is a link to the white paper and where to purchase the tokens. There will also be one legendary Splinterlands card as a fourth prize. If you don't play Splinterlands just let me know and I'll send you two HSBI instead. To participate you need a reputation level of at least 25 and bots cannot win. And please one entry per person to make it fair to everyone.

All valid entries will be placed on the Wheel of Names and I will spin it four times. The first prize will be 5 HSBI units. The second prize will be another 5 HSBI units. Third prize will be a legendary Splinterlands card or two HSBI units, winner's choice. Fourth prize will be two DUO tokens. And since I am spinning the same wheel four times in a row it is theoretically possible for the same person to win all four prizes! Although I have yet to see it happen, maybe this week?

It's tough, I manage most days but take one day off for my sanity's sake. Finding a topic daily takes a lot of effort, but once you get a streak going it's keeps you motivated!

My new years resolutions would be (pretty personal one)

  1. share more how I am realy feeling to my loved oned (when I am not feeling well), if I feel the urge to suppress my feelings - tell my wife. If I have a relapse - be open and honest about it, just a moment of weakness.

  2. Eat more healthy

  3. Don’t take my loved ones for granted - reflect weekly and tell them once in a while what they mean to me.

To be honest, none at all... I gave up on them a few years back. If I find something I want to work on I write it down (so I don't forget) and put it somewhere I will see it every day and work at it.

You've got some great ones there, sharing and expressing as a male doesn't come natural, I understand that one all too well. Eating healthy is important, one I work on every day!

Just heard about DUO from seeing someone give a tip this morning; convenient to see a giveaway right after! My New Year's Resolution is to do more to document my land stewardship and sustainability projects, and write more.

Good goals! DUO is a great project, and still relatively inexpensive to involved. Once you stake 200 you can get daily curations, and daily liquid Hive dividends.

Writing more is on my list of things to get done, I've got a couple projects I'm in the middle of and looking for inspiration to finish them off!

The chocolate cake looks intriguing and mouth watering.

My new year resolution is half done already. I will switch my company and earn less hours while earning more money at the same time. I also want to do my yearly fasting again which I didn't this year for some reason. 5Kg less would be good. I also want to walk the Megamarsch which didn't happen this year. Megamarsch is hiking 50 km in under 12h.

Please HSBI if I win.

Your welcome! Adding onto your DUO stack! Now 50 km in under 12 hours sounds painful, you'll have to get in shape for that one for sure. Reminds me of those good old long marches I did in the Army! lol

50 km will be painful. I got 22 km in the summer this year, so half way done. 😂 50 km will be mentally and physically a challenge. But that is the part I like. I did other things already like climbing up a mountain or hiking and climbing down a dry waterfall (Torrent de Pareis is without water in some summer months).

They are not the same I listed last week tbh but these we have as well in The Netherlands they are called poffertjes and they beat pancakes ass and require their own pan.

My choice was Olliebollen because they are end of year treats but Poffertjes or Aebleskiver are tastier....thanks for reminding me !PIMP

I don't really think about New Years resolutions because it's a very arbitrary time to set goals. You can set new goal at any point of the year. I'm satisfied with my job so I don't have to worry about getting a new one. The only thing I can think of is to be my physically active.

I'll keep my resolution HIVE focused. Accumulate more HIVE in 2025 than I did so in 2024! 🤑 Hopefully alt season begins in earnest somewhere in that time frame and HIVE gets pulled up along with it too.
