What a delight these memories are, @nancybriti1. There were several places in your story that I could see so vividly, and it made me laugh out loud to see how your parents interacted and how you and your sister handled their arguments when they were mad.

When they were upset, we were the carrier pigeons between them: tell your dad that the food is served, tell him I'm out of the bathroom, that the flour is finished.

This is a perfect illustration of what was happening in the household, and how the children were charged with carrying messages between the adults who did not want to talk to one another!

I'm finding out that all marriages are like this, I thought it was just my parents' thing! hahaha. In the distance, remembering these anecdotes I realize how happy we were and with so little. Greetings and thanks for your comment, @jayna.
