Community: The Ink Well | Clothes laid out In those days, I was one of those who appreciated the smell of lavender coming out of the freshly washed clothes that Leila would hang out in the sun. They were piles of clothes that Leila washed from time to time, because she was the only one who had a washing machine in the village and people rented her services as a laundress and paid her with corn, pigs, chickens, and Leila was delighted to wash piles and piles of dirty clothes. When Leila washed, she filled all the ropes made of wire surrounding her house with pants, shirts, dresses and sheets that looked like multicolored parrots when they moved in the wind. Leila and her house were hidden between fabric walls that smelled of lavender and azulillo, a kind of soap that “made the white whiter,” or so they said on TV ... |
Community: The Ink Well | There has always been chaos at the popular Balogun market in Lagos, and a few days ago, there wasn't an exemption. It felt like it was double what it had always been. Voices rose and fell like the waves crashing against seashores. The air reeked of stench from, dust, spices and every possible thing you could think of ... |
Community: Freewriters | All it took to get Savvy back on the streets again was a roll of mint dollar bills worth a grand. Working at the shelter kitchen afforded her enough for one meal a day but she wasn't crazy about food. She needed a place of her own. Living on the streets had worn her down ... |

This is something fascinating I stumbled upon today. So, the tldr is that researchers from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) have developed a fascinating tool to check if milk has gone bad. And all you need to have is a smart phone. Before I read the actual press release my first guess was that it would use some advanced camera hocus pocus or something that would recognize discoloration or whatever that the human eye can't ... | |
Community: Worldmappin | Following a filling and enjoyable lunch, our next stop was the Nuruosmaniye Mosque, where we were led by an audio guide. In my upcoming post, I will discuss the Grand Bazaar that is located adjacent to this lovely mosque. Regrettably, we were unable to fully tour the mosque internally due to time constraints, however, we did admire its beautiful exterior and appreciate some of its allure in the courtyard. The construction of the Nuruosmaniye Mosque took place between 1748 and 1755 while Sultan Mahmud I and Sultan Osman III were ruling ... |

Community: Gaming Photography | In my last post, I talked about hunting a deer that led me to a mining site where I met David who seemed like a good guy at first sight and he was being so nice to Ellie. When Ellie was waiting for the other guy to come back with the antibiotics, they faced a messy fight there. David suggested they'd take shelter from the cold as his man would be gone for a while. Ellie made him take the deer with them and then David was trying to know who was sick that Ellie asked the antibiotics for but the girl was not a fool to tell everything to a stranger ... |
Community: Gaming Photography | Hey Fellow Gamers. Today, I bring you one of the most interesting and complex missions from COD Black Ops: Cold War. This was a mission to penetrate the Lubiyanka Building aka The KGB headquarters. I can't believe I just sneaked into one of the few most secure buildings of the Soviet Union and busted out of there with the evidence I wanted ... |
Community: Gaming Photography | To get to the Sacred Mountain Shrine, I must helped the kid spirits to find Taro so I looked for him. But I got confused not finding him in the Village where I thought he'd be and then a old man helped me about this and made it easy for me, though I haven't found Taro yet. After purifying the Village center, I was shown where I had to go next and it looked like a lot of things along with some alleys got unlocked around the village. I could create Karma by defeating corrupted enemies, restoring the environment and finding fruit for the Rot's to eat ... |

Community: Photography Lovers | Let’s take a ride, Up Up, to Sunshine Meadows, Banff Park, Alberta. Got a family? Probably the perfect activity to do with the kids. They will love the gondola and open air chairlift to the top (and so will you) ... |
Community: Worldmappin | Zelenogorsk is a small resort town located less than an hour's drive (50 km by train) from St.Petersburg. Its former name which I prefer, Terijoki, in original Finnish simply means 'Tar River'. It is located on the northern shore of the Finnish Bay of the Baltic Sea, which means it is part of the World Ocean... although of course one can not see here nor salty sea water, neither crabs or starfish or corals ... |
Community: Worldmappin | Castel Sant'Angelo, the unmissable landmark of Rome, Italy Hello travelers from around the world I couldn't stay away from Rome, being one of my favorite cities, so today I will share with you another amazing place in the capital of Italy, a page from the history of Rome, and yes, today we are visiting the Castel Sant'Angelo. While we stayed in Rome our trips were made by public transportation, it is a quite efficient way to get around in a very crowded city, especially we chose the buses because their stops were the closest to our objectives and especially to the hotel where we had accommodation. I can say that a walk through the streets of Rome is an amazing experience, everywhere you look you will see a page of history. After a short stroll through the crowded streets of Rome, a circular building, not very tall but strategically positioned, catches our eye ... |
