A Question to the FreeCompliments Community on an Addition to our Voting Trail

A little while back, I talked with @bradleyarrow about the possibility of adding our curation trail to his in order to support his project, BBH (Bitcoin-backed Hive). I took great notice of his consistency over the course of several years – not skipping a single day – even in spite of him actively battling with his wife’s cancer, and her subsequent passing (RIP to this lovely lady). Out of a show of respect, I offered to bring this idea to the community for a vote.

Adding BBH to our Curation Trail

Currently, we have a curation trail which is targeted exclusively towards posts made within the FreeCompliments Community. In fact, everyone who is on this curation trail earns 1 HSBI per month, per account. You can click to join the trail. Rest assured that we’re focused on curating quality content first and foremost, and you can check our curation history within the community.

OK, now that this overt shilling is completed, I’ll bring out the suggestion that we follow @bradleyarrow’s curation trail via the @fc-curation account with a 1% vote. This will allow us to support the project without burdening our own curation to any significant degree. It broadens his curation trail, and may also broaden the reach of our curation trail.

Since Bradley is essentially a well-respected veteran of the blockchain, I do trust his curation capabilities, hence I do not have reservations with following his trail. Nevertheless, it’s my responsibility to ask our involve stakeholders whether they’d agree to having a portion of their votes go outside the realm of the FreeCompliments Community.

Conclusion

We’re proposing a collaboration of curation trails – what do you think of the idea of adding our curation trail to the BBH curation trail? If we do add it, is 1% a reasonable vote to use on the voting trail?

I would love to hear any and all opinions about this curation trail from everyone who is currently a member of FreeCompliments, since you’re all inaugural members! Anyone else who finds this page is also very welcome to voice their opinion. We’re all about free speech, and everyone’s experience has value.

now this is hard. Ideally it should be around 5%+ so they can notice our curation trail, however seeing your voting mana is already on 14%... that's hard, you need to do some spreadsheet to analyze how much voting weight you can do to maintain your total voting mana above 70%

I think you confused my personal account with @fc-curation. 😉

5% might make more sense, but I would think that our votes would not be lost / become dust simply due to the size of the trail.

Just a reminder, my votes for my trail are always 10 percent. So if this community joins in with a 1 percent that is 1 percent or 10.

It should have very little effect. If my math is correct each vote my trail makes would end up only being equal to .1 percent voting power.

Ah, I see! So, for instance, a 100% trail from us would equate to a 1% vote from BBH's trail, or 10%? The numbers turned out a bit murky here.

We'll figure out the percentage after we get community approval, which I believe is going to happen based on our current responses.

lol. Math. At the moment I use 10%, that will go lower as the trail gets bigger, to keep my voting power from draining. If you end up following, you vote someone with your trail, I follow with 10% at the moment and my trail should follow.

If I upvote someone then the percentage you use, only 10 percent of your voting power assigned to my trail is used. So if you set to 100%. 10% of 100 is 10. 10% of 1 is .1% Get it? lol

Ah ok, this refers to the voting power! Now I think I understand.

I assign 10% to the BBH trail, and 1% of fc-curation's voting power is used. The same goes on your end.

Then it would make sense for me to set 10%, as I think we can spare 1% of voting power daily.

Looks like responses are still mostly positive, but I'll see within a week or so.

Curation trails have a disadvantage in that votes can be overwritten, often downgraded.
Imagine if @fc-curation's trail votes for a post and then bradley's trail votes for the same post.
