Cross Canada Trekking - Part 21 [The Journey led us to Port Alberni 🚢 ]

We arrived at Port Alberni shortly after Cathedral Grove. As soon as we arrived, I was totally stoked to get out and take pics. Like I knew something good was coming. I went off to explore what I could find and found myself at the pier almost immediately. At first I had a lot of fun looking at all the sea vessels moored since it's not something I am used to seeing where I am from. Even though we had been seeing a lot of them lately 😆. But eventually as I was walking along, I saw that there was this gigantic, absolutely MEGALITHIC complex to explore. I couldn't help myself, and just wander along inside and check it out for a little bit. I ended up disappearing in there for a while, because it was the type of place you could literally get lost in. I only got to see a tiny little slice of it. Imagining this factory or mill rather in it's heyday was also something too. Seeing the sheer scale of everything, machinery, the cranes, the signage, the controls etc. It really brings a feeling of curiosity to what it was like when it was still in operation. Also I'm curious why it was closed down. Regardless, I had a feeling my folks would be wondering where I was after a while, and just about the time that I finally left they called me on my phone wondering where I had just disappeared.

I will leave the whole Abandoned Urbex photos for a the next post, there's enough photos from the city of Port Alberni for this post. Nobody likes going through 100 pics in one go in one go. Nobody wants to have to unnecessarily scroll forever, Even if the pics are amazing people can only do so many at a time.

It is my hopes to provide a little value for those wanting to see other parts of the world. As well as share some of my experiences, anectodes etc. As well, it's fun to capture a bit of the beauty for my own and others memories. I am not sure why but I am just such an overtly nostalgic person at times, it seems like moreso than other people. Seems like photos for me are an integral part of that and there are so many photos over the years that tell a little bit of a story of where I have been at what time. I am sure that I am not alone, that there are others out there wanting to share in the experiences of others and of course share their own experiences, their own little slice of reality because for whatever reality itself truly is, it is a very multi-faceted experience, for all of us living in the human condition. I wish as well to enrich the lives of others as much as possible and contribute in my own way. I am figuring things out but have a lot more to discover, about how to balance being in service while also serving oneself, knowing the boundaries, when to say yes/no etc, knowing how to use ones time in the best possible way and not only that but actually doing it. I suppose for me, that is my little bit of the #humanexperience, at least currently. Have been also yearning for a long time to create a bit of routine for myself. With so many interests, activities, hobbies etc. that I enjoy, it would be really good to better organize my days and focus in on what matters most and brings me the most joy as well as build discipline to forge onwards in developing talents and abilities. Like writing a bit more of these posts. Not trying to be cheesy or anything but yeah, I consider it a worthwhile activity, a great journal activity 😉 Anyways, enough for now. One Love My Hive Fam. On and if you are wondering about the goats on the roof, it's a gimmick of this coutry market somewhere on the island. It seems to be pretty well known, when I posted this picture on FB a lot of people commented right away they knew where I was haha.
