Tapping Into Gwen's Glint Shop - Remarkable Splinterlands Drops From Reward Chests

Cheers to another remarkable season on Splinterlands! Standing ovation for the only play2earn blockchain game that didn't bored and disapointed me! Next week I will celebrate four years since my first battle!

Splinterlands is a game changer in the blockchain gaming world, delivering an epic mix of fast-paced action, deep strategy, and the power of decentralization. I’ve been hooked since 2020, and every battle since has been an absolute blast!

Whether you're a noob getting the hang of things or a seasoned pro sharpening your edge, tapping into the community's wisdom is your ticket to leveling up. A winner never stops... that's why I keep playing!

My previous season was good, and the rewards where juicy! My highest tier achieved during the event was Gold I, earning 16,010 Glint as the season's rewards.

This season was even better, reaching only Gold III but with much more Glint earned for the hustle! Got 20,274 Glint as season's rewards, and 4 more Bonus from the ambassador program!

Last season I decided to play with the odds! I had a total of 20,200 Glint spend, and I went for 101 of the cheapest chests! Was it a a good deal? Not really... as the value of the rewards was 25% less than the price paid to get the chests!

  • 5 rare x 750 = 3750
  • 21 common x 150 = 3150
  • 4 energy x 600 = 2400
  • 18 achemy x 100 = 1800
  • 17 legendary x 80 = 1360
  • 2525 Merits = 2500

I spent 22k Glint and the rewards summed up to only 14985, that's 5215 less than the investment. That amount could have been spent for 7 epic cards! We learn!

I started with two batches of rare draws, spending 15,000 Glint, and was lucky to get a Gold foil each time. The value of Commander Slade and the Skyspire Leopard is 30k so this time I doubled the investment in a blink!

Spent 15,000 Glint on two Epic draws, unwrapping the Thanalorian Blade and the Night Reaper, good drops towards upgrading this overpowered units. Imagine if a Gold Foil is discovered!

I was on 3800 Merits, and spent 200 Glint to have enough for two Gladius Cases. The drop was standard, with one rare card in each pack.

This is why I used this season's rewards more efficient! I had 45,000 Glint to spend after claiming the end of season bounty and holding all the earnings throughout the season!

I used the remaining 15,200 Glint to buy 76 common chests, giving it another try to the "quantity v quality" trial! I've unwrapped cards and other stuff that added up to 13,470 Glint, with a lesser variation than last season. However, I was still down 1530 Glint, which confirms that the common chests are not a good investment.

  • 4 rare x 750 = 3000
  • 20 common x 150 = 3000
  • 5 energy x 600 = 3000
  • 13 alchemy potions x 100 = 1300 Glint
  • 9 legendary potions x 80 = 720 Glint
  • 2454 Merits = 2450 Glint

Some battles are wild because they defy the odds! For this one, I decided to embrace the two battle rules, Fog of War and Up To Eleven, focusing on a tank that will break the balance!

The Cursed Winedku damage done by Thornes to all those that attacked him was amplified, and the Arachne Weaver had a clear job... keep him alive!

Thaddius Brood: -1 Health & +1 Spell Damage to enemies

Cursed Windeku: Melee with Thornes

Arachne Weaver: Caster with Corrupted Healing

Corpse Fiend: Melee Legendary

General Sloane had only one unit to boost, as the others were not ranged cards. Not the best strategy in my opinion, but who am I to judge? My opponent went for six cheap units, while my focus for for quality not quantity.

The Albahoo Forester survived longer than expected, supported with healing from the Venari Crystalsmith, while the Weaver was healing the Windeku. The issue with Corrupted Healing is that each time a unit is healed with 70% of it's max health, the same stat is reduced by one.

Long battles will make the target's health drop so much that the heal will be inefficient. Two enemies down, and the Windeku max health was now down to eight after two rounds!

Vilguine has become the new "issue", as the beast's Scavenger ability raised it's health to a decent level. Then adding the heal from the Crystalsmith... and this unit suddenly becomes a proper tank!

Fortunately for me, the Thornes took Vilguine down in a sensible moment! My tank was at it's lowest point in the battle, with only two health left, but the Corrupted Healing took him to good standards!

Poetical justice, as the healer lived to see them fall! He failed to keep them alive, and watched the corruption being more efficient than his holy light! The Windeku's max health was reduced to six, but the strategy secured the win! See the full battle here!
