House GOP Impeachment Report Has No Proof of Crimes
In the 291-page document, released on the day that Democrats gather in Chicago to begin their party convention, Republicans call Mr. Biden’s conduct ‘egregious’ and say he should be impeached for abuse of power and obstruction. But the report contains no proof that Mr. Biden, when he was vice president, engaged in any corrupt quid pro quo to benefit his son’s business partners, and Republicans admit they have no direct evidence that he ordered any interference into a Justice Department investigation into Hunter Biden.

Policy Isn’t Going to Win This Election
One of the great myths of American politics is that detailed policy positions are crucial to winning elections. Yes, policy matters in broad strokes: Candidates take general positions on issues such as taxes, abortion, and foreign policy. Rather than study white papers or ponder reports from think tanks, however, most voters count on parties and candidates to signal broad directions and then work out the details later.
In the 2024 election, policy details matter even less than they usually do. Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, seem to have figured this out. Harris has been blasted by Republicans for avoiding the press, and some journalists have griped that she hasn’t sat down for a long interview and didn’t make a major policy speech before this past Friday. But Harris and Walz seem to be making a strategic choice—and for now, a good one.
Policy proposals are supposed to differentiate the candidates, but drawing policy distinctions with Trump is hard when he presents almost nothing beyond ‘I will fix it.’

Trump’s Efforts to Define Kamala Harris Fall Flat
Heading into the Democratic National Convention, new data suggests that the Trump campaign’s initial attempts to frame the conversation about Vice President Kamala Harris have so far gained relatively little traction.
Instead, the public’s attention has remained largely focused around the Democratic nominee’s selection of a running mate and other facets of her campaign – a dynamic that could be reinforced for another week as the Democratic Party gathers in Chicago.

While funny, wasn't this later shown to be cherry picked and was actually quite some time before the speech began and there were thousands of people outside the rally as well as in?
I’ve seen both versions of the claims, some of them with photo timestamps that might or might not be accurate. But Trump does have a history of claiming that thousands of people were turned away without then substantiating those claims.
He’s got a weird history of making up and fixating on attendance numbers that don’t seem to have much of a connection to reality. Like the one on the Jersey shore where he claimed there were over 100,000 people at a venue that could accommodate less than 20,000.
This was a hoot:
