The Yellow Finch building his home

Hi there Steemians.

A couple of photos my goose took of a Yellow finch building his nest.

Also known as Spinus tristis.

I have to say that I wont mind to sit and watch them build a home from the start till the finish.

The Yellow Finch looks alot like a Budgie to me.. Well it did at first. But I did see that its indeed so much more beautiful. Especially with the bright yellow and then the black wings add that beautiful artistic touch.

The very first photo is the one i find most captivating. My goose took 240 photos just to get that one beautiful photo. So alot of credit to her for these photos. I did add the unfiltered photo of the first one in so that everyone can see the difference. But all of them have filters over, some lighter and some darker.

I swear, you guys in SA have such beautiful birds! Not to downplay the beauty of our birds in the west, but most of yours seem to have such amazing "artistic" details, as you point out. I would join you watching this finch build its nest from beginning to end!

Hehe laugh out loud. That might be. But I feel you guys in the west has all the best landscapes.. And also nott to diminish our beautiful country.. But damn you guys have one hella big country with alot of hella beautiful views... Like the grand canyon... I can onky dream of seeing something as majestic as that

How neat! What a pretty looking bird, too. I routinely have a robin's nest in one of the trees right by my front window. I've always enjoyed watchign and listening to that.

Oh thats nice. I bet they will always make nest by that window... It's kind of soothing and relaxing listening to birds... I just wish we were more aware of them. They are so easily dismissed

How much does it cost for him to build in his neighborhood? How much is his mortgage? Hope he got a decent interest rate. I didn't see his building permit. Where is his hard-hat? Where are the contractors? Where are the inspectors? How does he know whether he's up to code or not? LoL.

Thank God they don't have to worry about all that.

That is amazing that you got to watch the whole nest building process. That is a hard working little goldfinch! And the best is lovely. I hope you get to see baby goldfinches.
