New Year; Set The Ball Rolling

It is an honour and a privilege to make it to the year 2025, and on that note, I welcome you all to the new year and wish you a happy new year. It is worth noting that what you do with the first (the first day of the year, in this context) will determine how the rest will be. May I remind you that the year has already begun, so you need to set the ball rolling, make your plans, start executing them, take that decision, take that risk, get going. The most perfect time to start working on your year's plan is the first day of the year. If you keep waiting for when the time will be right, then you may not start at all. What happens this year to you will be heavily determined by what you do at the start of the year. You need to start well to increase your chances of finishing well.

A lot of people normally take resolutions on the first day of the year of what they want to do. Well, it is good, even though you do not really have to wait until when you get to a new year to take a resolution, but it is the action that you take that will make all the difference. If you state what you want to do and end up not taking any action on it, then it will not profit you anything. In fact, it is your action that gives substance to your intent. It is good to make plan, because it is what will guide your actions throughout the year, but much more than that, you also need to act on your plan for it to deliver.

In this new year, you have to put in your best, better than what you did last year, so that you will see better results. There are areas where you need to be serious with, which will determine how the year will be for you. Firstly, you need to understand that each day counts, from the very first day. As every new day comes, try to do something unique, try out something new. Even if the result is not as you have intended, but for the fact that you attempted it early will give you more time to make corrections, learn enough lessons, and take a better step without being choked by time. But if you take the steps behind time, you may not have enough time to retake the step if it does not go well. This is one of the reasons why prompt action is a vital requirement to succeeding.

Another area you should take seriously is your friendship and company. If someone is not ready to move nor make progress, then they should not be your friend because obviously they will prevent you from making progress. You have to learn to company with the people going to the same direction in life as you are, so that you can learn from them and of course, you can gather more experience from them. It takes the power of an iron to sharpen another iron - not by using wood. In the same way, when you stay with people that are enroute to success, then you will achieve your own success. In this new year, you need to be careful and cautious about the kind of people you allow into your life because they will definitely influence your personality.

The next area you need to look into is in your finance and expenditures. You need to apply prudence in how you spend. Have budget of what you want your money to go into and stick to it. This also includes making investments, saving for future, etc. A lot of things that happen to an individual have financial implications and can also be traced back to finance. If you get it right with your finance in the year, a lot of other things will align and fall into place. Before you spend, you have to have a budget and of course, be sure that what you want to spend on is worthwhile.

The last aspect that you will look at is to work on yourself and on your interpersonal skills. The truth is that you need people in whatever you want achieve, but to get the relevant people, you need to build your interpersonal skills. To get a good friend, then you have to become friendly and be the kind of friend you want. Let your life be conducive for the relevant people to locate you.
