What to Invest in next...? Crypto/ stocks/ metals/ whisky/ (and which?) and any other suggestions...?
So I once again find myself with some spare cash to Vest in, well SOMETHING...?!?
Discretion means I won't say how much, but I can say that I have some amount to invest in something....?!?
I'm quite open to suggestions about what to invest in next.
I don't really trade BTW, so I'm not interested in that, I just find it's too anxiety inducing, so I'm interested in long term hodls, and I do also like a yield.
In terms of balance I think I have enough crypto, but I am open to trading some of what I've got for something else, naturally! Any suggestions as to what might be another good token to hodl for yield besides Hive/ Rune/ ATOM related tokens would be welcome.
I hardly have any precious metals, I am tempted by gold and especially silver, just because I like the idea of having a coin collection, but anything else I might buy...? Maybe rare earth minerals. I like the idea of these because of the whole scarcity thing!
But I also quite like the idea of a small punt on some riskier companies that good go BOOM!
Stocks... I am probably going to buy some more Fundsmith stocks, that did well for me 2010-2020, and I like their approach of buy solid big companies who are firmly integrated into our lives and just hold, but anything else...?
And Whisky, I am almost certainly going to Vest more in that.
But is there anything else I should be considering...?
I did used to have money in Funding Circle, lending to small businesses, but Covid put an end to that, maybe some kind of property-shares fund? Maybe something else I haven't considered.
I'm open to suggestions, basically anything that's going to yield me 5-10% and is low risk or anything that could pop to give me a > 30% at any point over the next five years.
I'm in the mood for divesting some of this stack of cash I've got ATM!!!
I'll give out some nice juicy upvotes for SENSIBLE suggestions that appeal to me!
Cheers!

Whiskey Barrels always a sound one.
Amazon stocks good.
Vineyards?
Watches (Grand Seikos)?
Cars?
Nice suggestions, I like the thought of real assets, Vineyards are an interesting one never thought of that!
Since Thailand has legalized the reefer, it could be good to look into reefer projects to be a part of.
I hear renting half an acre of land in Thailand costs just about....approx £70-£100 per year according to this geezer here...
If thats the case.....hehehehehe....i know where i wanna go....
It's certainly worth a look thanks for the idea!
I think it depends on term. For a long-term, I would invest in land.
Yes that's a good one, standard!
I strongly believe that Holding in HBD saves could be a great way to wait with your capital before deciding which to invest and if you cannot decide after a year you would have made 20 percent of the money anyways🤣
I do like HBDs, I intend to stack at least $10Ks worth in perpetuity!
That's super wise brother, keep moving forward, love the plan 🫡🫡🫡❤️
Buy a garden and cultivate it, there is nothing more profitable. You will eat better, you will exercise and you will get tan.
What I call an alt vest, I like it, just not quite there yet!
I can definitely relate to your perspective on trading. The constant monitoring and fluctuations in the market can indeed be anxiety-inducing. Like you, I'm more inclined towards long-term hodling and seeking out opportunities for yield.
While I may not be heavily invested in cryptocurrencies, I do see the appeal of exploring other tokens that offer good yields besides the ones I'm already familiar with. It's always good to diversify and explore new opportunities in the market.
The idea of collecting coins, especially silver, resonates with me as well. There's something about the tangible nature of precious metals that adds a unique appeal to investing. Additionally, investing in rare earth minerals due to their scarcity is an intriguing prospect.
Taking calculated risks with investments in potentially high-growth companies is something I'm also considering. It's all about finding the right balance between risk and reward in our investment strategies.
Regarding stocks, I share your sentiment about Fundsmith's approach. Investing in solid, established companies that are integrated into our daily lives and holding onto them for the long term can be a smart strategy. However, I'm also open to exploring other opportunities in the stock market that align with my investment goals.
Whisky investment sounds like an interesting avenue to explore further. The potential for appreciation over time coupled with the enjoyment of collecting and tasting different whiskies is definitely appealing.
Exploring alternative investments like property-shares funds or other options outside of traditional avenues is something I'm considering as well. It's important to keep an open mind and explore various investment opportunities to diversify our portfolios and mitigate risk.
Overall, I share your desire to find opportunities that can yield consistent returns with relatively low risk, while also being open to higher-risk investments that have the potential for substantial growth. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I look forward to exploring these investment avenues further.
Sounds like you're on a similar path, best of luck!
This year gold broke out of a very long base.
Huge cup and handle.
Rotation coming, short S&P, long metals.
Cheers! Good time to buy gold then..?!?

What if you invest in Gold?
You know Gold appreciates very well be it physical or the other
Think about it and let me know how you feel about it
The best way and the cheapest fees are on Vanguard - a nice tracker fund with all the first 200 top companies selected for you if it is long-term. Given that the 4-6% return is safe, low risk and you invest less than 25K for no tax. If you invest more you may be taxed if you get more than £1000 per year in dividends. A nice 3 year bond or cash isa with most of the banks will also give you 4-5% return.
If you like medium to high risk, check this one: https://across.to?ref=0xB018AC399491B9320A456ad0e696D2032b6bADD3
it is a referral to provide liquidity, if you need it, you get around 17% for ETH and 24% for stablecoin like USDC if you keep it for more than 3 months. Across is one of the best bridges and it is made by UMA, so they got a solid team behind. I parked some of my crypto here and I do exchange all the rewards into more stable every 3-4 months.
Cheers, I might have a look at some stocks funds, I'm steering clear of DEFI pools, I had enough of those in 2021. I'll just stick with my 20% on HBDs!
HBD is cool too, at least for now. I am increasing my HBD too lately.
What you want is a tracker fund, low fee, variety for portfolio. Do not pick single shares, they are expensive long-term.

With 200K invested, over 15 years the difference in fees and compounding is like 600K in single shares versus 2.3M for tracker. Roughly! Before COVID, now we do not know yet, but they tend to do well long term.
I have but now if I have money I would like to invest in altcoins because their prices are very low right now and prices are going to be very high within the next year.
I just discovered 'copy trading', where you just kind of link up to a professional or an entity and automatically copy all the trades they do. On etoro it lets you browse different people, their track history, risk factor, number of copiers etc.
It's quite nice cause they do all the hard work and some of them have been making mad profits year after year. I'm slowly adding a bit more every couple of weeks to average out the time frame. Though my monzo account is giving me a rather hearty 4.6% return on savings, my first copy trade is already on 12% return in just a few months.
Pretty fun!
Hmm that does sound interesting I will look into it for sure! Cheers!
