Happy Easter everyone! Time to do some shopping at the Easter Market Friday! 🐰

Hello everyone! And (belated) Happy Easter! 🐰

I know that perhaps most of you celebrated Easter last week but on this part of the globe most of us celebrate it this weekend so I thought that it's right in time for some shopping with this purpose, as well as share what we've found in the Easter Market held in town that matched perfectly with the #MarketFriday thing organized by @dswigle.

I won't lie saying that this is the first time held in town but it's actually my first time getting to see one because last year during this period the weather was pretty crazy and I've spent most of my time either at home or doing preparations for the Easter meal. The weather wasn't too good this time either as we were pretty close to celebrating Easter with snow outside but somehow things changed in the last 2-3 days and managed to get back to 15°C right in time, so cheers to the sunny days we've been missing for so long!

Anyway, enough with the stories and let's better take a look at what I, my sister and my boyfriend found at the Easter Market we visited recently. 🥚

We visited the market 2 days away since it was officially opened so being still a fresh thing and also during the weekend, there were plenty of people stopping by. Walking in a crowd is not one of my favorite things just because I always preferred places less known by people or just not that busy, but I guess no matter the day or time we would visit this, it would still gather lots of curious eyes in search for some specific ornaments or small gifts to offer to their loved ones.

Happily, there were also quite a few spots dedicated to kids where parents could leave their little ones to have fun while they did shopping, remembering the colorful tent where children could search for eggs, the train rides, the carousel, or even some sort of trampoline that had the longest queue.

When it came to Easter ornaments, we were quite disappointed to find just a few chalets having this kind of things because 90% of them came with the common fridge magnets or jewelry that you can find in the rest of the year too, so we skipped these pretty quickly looking out just for the Easter themed ones.

Most of these shops are also available during the rest of the year too, but they did an extra effort to decorate specific things for Easter, like the candles carved in the shape of an egg or the painted wood in the shape of an egg too. As you can see, both of the shops have their original products in the background so the Easter ones are definitely not something that you will see in the rest of the year too. I'd love to see more of the shops doing the same thing, but considering that from what I heard renting a chalet in the center of Sibiu is not that cheap, I guess not everyone considered the efforts worth it.

Two shops that got my attention though, even if they had nothing to do with the Easter Holidays, were the one with natural syrups and honey where I've first heard of syrup made from the wasp venom which is supposed to relieve pain and treat inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and tendonitis.

The other shop that I liked was the one with precious and semi-precious stones that you could buy both in raw shape but also transposed into sculptures or jewelry. My boyfriend likes this kind of stones and it slowly gave me an interest into them as well. ❤️

If the crowd gets you tired quickly as it happened for us, there are also some hidden resting spots located just behind the chalets where you can sit on a bench and read a book, as well as delight your eyes with the secret messages left on each chalet that brought us a lot of smiles.

There was also a place where you could donate books, but also some bunnies places in a cage between painted eggs that gathered both children and adults around them. It's hard to pass by without starring at the little ones doing their living without caring too much about the crowd. 😃

Anyway, after getting to check every single shop we finally decided what to purchase and ended up with two small painted eggs made of plastic that you can hang as ornaments on the door handle or the cabinet openers, but also a decorative basket that suits perfectly with this time of the year. The lady selling these even added a few extra small eggs in the basket just to make it even more suggestive for the Easter Holidays.

Did you purchase any Easter ornaments for this period?

Personally, I feel like this is going to slowly turn into how Chritsmas Holidays look like, with plenty of ornaments and the gift giving thing. 😁

You two look amazing! 😍 Kudos! 👏

Also, those basket bunnies look so cute - would be such a nice gift for my younger sibling.

Did you purchase any Easter ornaments for this period?

Still in the process of purchasing, myself. This is the first year that I'm thinking of doing something for Easter. Will see what will end up happening. 😅

Thanks for sharing!

Seeing all those colorful decorations and such a cheerful place makes me regret that where I live Easter is not celebrated.

Sad to hear that. Though, it's the first time when I hear that Easter is not celebrated. Why?

What happens is that in the country where I live they don't celebrate many holidays like Easter or Halloween, I guess it's because of cultures and traditions.

What a vibrant market you have in your place @gabrielatravels. Here in Cebu, Easter is filled with delicious homemade food mostly pork and chicken. 😁

Beautiful Easter market with gifts for everybody. Such markets create a relaxing atmosphere and invite for everyone to chill and try finding something to like. And through repetition such markets become tradition and create events to wait for and put them in the calendar. 😀 Happy Easter Holiday!

It was indeed a very relaxing and chill atmosphere despite the crowd created by all the tourists coming by. Happy Easter! 🐰

I love that you take us with you, in such a way that fits into @MarketFriday - my favorite way! A cultural event! The Easter Market was pretty nice, with hints of Spring everywhere.

I like that they have the bunnies and painted Easter Eggs, although I didn't see the traditional red ones. I have to admit, I have never been to an Easter Market downtown. I am sure there is one and next year I will seek it out. All of the things that I might purchase for Easter, ornaments and such are bought at the various churches around here that cater to it. We have made our own ornaments and I always do an Ester Tree (Oh, my! You might be right about the Christmas thing!) But we keep it in line with the nature of the holiday. Easter eggs are not a religious celebration, and that is okay. I like to separate it. :) I don't like that it is not all about Easter at the Easter Market. Refrigerator magnets are not what I am looking for at this time of year. :)

I hope it never goes the way of Christmas! It is lovely because it is so simplistic. For me, Church, then an egg hunt, the big family dinner. No presents. :)

I love your photos and how you interject fun things into your post. The tiny library. I have one in my neighborhood! I love them and the idea. Your basket was really sweet!!! I have eggs very much like that except they are metal (I am not sure what metal!)I think I got them in the UK. This was fun and I want to thank you for supporting the challenge!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world. Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

1.Go to any type of market, or anywhere where you pay money for a service. It can be a museum, a movie theatre, or an auction. Be creative!
2.Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? We like to compare prices, otherwise, it is just pictures of a market!
3.Post the pictures! No out-of-focus ones, please! Tell a little bit about the pictures that you post. Having many pictures to scroll through does not make a better post without explanation.
4.Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated) If you don't, then #MarketFriday should be your first tag
5.Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.
6.#MarketFriday post should be submitted sometime on Friday UTC
7.The post MUST be in English
8.Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it

#MarketFriday loves you!

Indeed, there weren't any red painted Eggs like the traditional ones but only some artificial ones with either small ornaments on them or painted with bunnies. I heard that a lot more Easter Decorations and painted eggs could be found in the Mall where these were also handcrafted and not only bought from a shop cheaper and then sold in the center of the city on a higher price. Unfortunately I found out about this aspect when I got home and saw the Jumbo label hanging on the decorative eggs and the little basket :(

However, it's always fun bringing my contribution in the #MarketFriday and also stop by to explore the cultures of more countries. Thank you for taking time to stop by and read! ❤️
