My favorite artist;Dunsin Oyekan transcends.
About this, would love to go straight to the topic, theres this artist that stands out in my mind Dunsin Oyekan a Nigerian gospel singer, who is known for his powerful and anointed and prescense filled music.
He even holds a worship event taged"The Outpouring".
There's something about his unique sound, his passion and his ability to convey the heart of God through music. To be honest,I just love to be like him,and if am not asking for too much,I love to be him at least for some days,to tap into where he gets his kind of that which flows through him, cause sincerely its out of this world,he knows how to capture the heart and leave you basking, inspired and you know free.
I remember when I heard his song "Imole de".I was blown away by the power that poured out of its every lyric, the way he mixes Yoruba and English and create a sound that's universally relatable is enviable. He's a genius.
That song(and many more)is one for ages, its one that would definitely shake you and you know he has a way of using his songs to provoke or push you to prayers.
And not just his music, his passion, his energy, his commitment to spread the message is topnotch..
I had the privilege of attending the just concluded program tagged "The Experience"where he ministered alongside other incredible artists and it is a given. The way he commanded the stage, led the crowd to worship, its awesome, this man has it,hes different and he's one I would love to be like.
Almost all of his songs brings about this kind of electrical atmosphere, where you feel the very presence of God.Where you feel free, pouring your all out,and never wanting to recover from the kind of presence his songs brings about.
I watched him minister and I admired him the more, and my respect for him who has dedicated his life to this course grew.I can't help but think if this is what it means to be truly and totally sold out to God,to surrender everything to His will and purpose and just follow,Its indeed challenging.
He is always himself, not afraid to be real,to declare his stand and dedicating God.
For me Dunsin Oyekan's music is not entertainent,it is inspiration,it is comfort,it is hope, power and strength, just like the balm of Gilead,it is a balm to hurting, burdened, anxiety filled soul.
Though Christ is the/our perfect example.
Dunsi Oyekan passes a message about using our unique gifts and talents to spread Gods message of love and redemption to a world that desperately needs it.
He's unique, his voice commands, his songs are one beyond comprehending with words.
He's a gift to this generation, and me being just like him,not for the applauses, but for the good, great impact,I would so much love and appreciate it,his life is one that is worth emulating.
