Studio portraiture of the Miss Kebabayan 2023

Kebabayan in Filipino means people of the same country or people of the same town. This too can be translated to fellow Filipino or comrade.

Hello and greetings everyone in the community. I hope that all of you guys are doing great. Today I want to share another studio portraiture that I have done recently. They are the Miss Kebabayan 2023 finalist for a charity event that being held here at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This was a non profit organization for the Filipino community here in Sabah. This was my first time knowing that such a community that actively doing charity existed. Their chairman Mr. Julius is a very friendly person. At first he and one of his friend went to our studio and asked for a studio portraiture with a very minimal payment, but since this was a non profit organization and the event was for charity I decided to sponsor them the photoshoot session as a gesture of supporting them.

At the beginning, they was suppose to have eight contestant for the event, but three of them decided to pull out from it. I did not know the details and I did not ask for further reason. So only five of them remains for the final event on the 29th of April 2023. I hope that I can attend the event and took some of their performance photos. It will be a good experience and memory for me to be able to join this kind of events.

During the photoshoot I asked every one of them on their experience in photoshoot and an event like pageant. Four of them is a first timer. No experience in photoshoot or any event pageant like. Only one of them, Diamond, had an experience in photoshoot and pageant event. But I was amazed because all of them are doing very good during the photoshoot. Their expression and poses was not that bad, for a beginner and they give full cooperation during the photoshoot session. They really give their 100% commitments for the activities. Kudos to everyone of them. The photo session was done perfectly and I got good photos for them to put on their event page. All the best to them and that is all from me.
