Mono Monday a few recent shots

Good Morning Monday is upon us again and another week begins
may it be a good week for you

As I do on MOndays I am sharing a few Mono shots today, now inthe title I say a few recent, but the term recent is relative I guess, i havent been out taking photos for about a week or so for a variety of reasons, but these were from walks just before that.

Starting with a shot of the tall ship the Ernestina Morrisey docked at the port here in New Bedford, I suspect this will be the last shot I get of it before it is wrapped up for the winter, mind you it will still be docked in this spot over winter.

And just across a road from the port is the Historic district here in New Bedford, I love walking there and getting shot sof the old buildings and belgian block streets, some I keep in color but some I feel work better in mono such as this one

With not gettign out for many walks I have had more time to learn more of the capabilities of lightroom and photoshop and try to improve my editign skills, a lot of the focus over the last week has bene more related to color edits, but I did try a couple of new things with some of these shots.
This next one called out to me to be a mono edit it had a sort of moody mysterious feel to me

Another shot in the historic district, I used to always brighten up mono shots when I edited them, but I think some work with a higher contrast and more moody feel such as this one

at the end of this street is the road I cross to get back to the port

and bakc at the port to finish off, this was another one I tried another style of editing, am in a mixed mind what I think of this one

Your monochrome shots always look gorgeous, dear friend @tattoodjay
I'm glad you're taking advantage of the time off from walking to learn how to use these tools better
Have a happy start to the week

A big fan of the second shot. It had a real vintage feel the moment I looked at it (I realize there is a car and one way sign etc, hahaha).

Man as much as I tune in to see the cobblestone streets knowing moby dick is right off shore ;), I do love seeing those old ships. The mono makes them almost ghostlike the way you shot them.

Decent!

That is a pretty cool tool you have there! You can really change the feel and look completely by adjusting the brightness. Interesting! Too bad things are cooling off there, it will make those morning walks less frequent I'm sure.

Love the tall mast ship and mono shots of the streets. I can see a sailor coming down the gangplank and wandering the streets 🙂
