Fall colors in Brooklawn Park

Fall colors in Brooklawn Park

The dental surgery went well yesterday, was in a fair bit of pain afterwards and through the dya yesterday, still some pain this morning but not to bad

Those that have followed me for a while will know I mostly get out for early morning walks around sunrise, but with the fall colors peaking recently I have switche dup and got out for a few during the day walks visiting spots around the area catching the fall colors, and in this post I will share a few shots from a visit to Brooklawn park here in New Bedord

a little bit about the park

Brooklawn Park was once part of a country estate built by Daniel Ricketson. The park welcomed some famous visitors in the 1800s, including writers Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson

Responding to the needs of a rapidly growing population due to the success of the textile industry, this land became a city park at the end of the 19th century. This 85 acre park is a multi-use complex which features 6-baseball and 2-softball fields, 2-basketball and 4-tennis courts, a skate park, playground, splash-pad, nature & cross country running trails

its a lovely park I used to visit quite often when my wife used to go toour Daughter in Laws hair salon to get her hair doone, while she was there i would go for walks and this park was a hort drive from there. but now the Daughter in Law no longer does hair, I do not visit it so often, but swung by to check out the colors

This tree always grabs my attention at this time of year, its visible from the road as one drive sby and sure is eye catching

whenever I visit there I take a stroll around this little pond, often there are ducks and geese on the pond

There was a couple but not many ducks there this day, but my focus was more onthe fall colors

I did notice this bridge, which did not use to be there, looks they have extended the pond and added the bridge, great to see they are updating the park and looking after it

And another view of this tree, I think I missed it at peak but still beautiful, and most likely with the recent heavy winds we have had it may be almost bare by now

The pain after a dental surgery can be so intense. Been there, done that.... I hope it’s not too bad for you.

The colours are so bright. Very nice combination of orange/red and blue.
Do you do any post-processing to get the sky this blue or do you use filters on your camera?

luckily yesterday the pain eased a bit and this morning its not to bad so I cant complain

I occassionaly may use Neautral density filters whehn I take photos, but none of these I did

often inthe early morning when ther eis a mix of lights and darks I take three photos at different exposures and merge them together into one photo

Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk
Have a great day

Ah, you're using HDR?
That explains the bright colours ☺️

I used to hate HDR as for ages I found whenever i tried them they looked so fake, but now I think I have it down and get natural photos with a good range of lights and darks so do them often on my early morning walks close to the sunrise

I'm glad your surgery went okay. Getting stuff like that done in your mouth is never a fun thing. It's amazing just how many nerves we have in that area of our body to be irritated!

Nice!

Them colours don't last long up here. Seems I have about a week to capture them and then the trees are all bald!

What a nice park with great fall colors. Emerson and Thoreau were some big name visitors. Great shots!

I'm glad the dentist went well, I hate dentists too so I know what kind of day it must have been. At least the pain is a little better today!
