Flower Photography: blooming Stromovka Park in Prague
Hey there my Hive friends and followers!
I thought I would be working on the second part of my mini photography series about the Zanzibar beaches today but I just got back from an amazing place here in Prague and I took some nice flower pictures there so I will put off the Zanzibar post to some other day (probably Friday or Saturday) and will share the fresh shots with you instead :)
The place where I got the photos is called Stromovka and it´s a huge park located just outside of the Prague center. With a total area of almost 100 hectares, it´s actually the largest park in the city and you can easily spend long hours just walking around, admiring the beautiful plants, trees and the wildlife that tends to gather around the network of ponds that can be found in the central part of the park. I might show you the park itself in some of my future posts too but today, we will take a look just at the blooming colorful spectacle that is happening there right now ;)
I hope you enjoyed the pictures. There are actually many more plant, shrub and tree species blooming in Stromovka these days but as I already mentioned, the park is really huge and we didn´t have enough time to explore it in its entirety so what you saw in the above featured shots is just a little sample of what can be found there. Moreover, despite the sunshine, it was actually very cold (just above the freezing point) and windy today so the walk was not as pleasant as it may seem from the photos :D But it definitely wasn´t my last time in that park, I would love to see it again in a few weeks when all the trees get covered with leaves. I mean it was already beautiful as it is now but with all the lush greenery back on the trees, it must be even more charming place. A lovely natural oasis and getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Highly recommended.

I love to see nature blooming all over Europe. Some trees have bloomed here, however my sour cherry tree has not yet :)

It makes me happy to see spring. Really, it is still freezing in my city. Still, I will try to get out soon and take some nice nature and flower photos. Maybe I will take some photos to join your Appreciate Beauty of Nature challenge 😅

What a lovely collection of spring photos! We have most of these flowers, blossoms here, but you cant Narcissus or daffodil fields like that. It's still a bit early for such flowers though. We have a cold wave, this morning was around 0. The flower blossoms are done, all the petals are on the ground.

I thought you would enjoy this little collection as I know that you like to take similar photos yourself :) Well, we have been having very cold weather here too, usually freezing in the night and just a few degrees above the freezing point during the day these days but it was already very warm like a week ago and that was probably what made all the flowers grow and bloom. I just hope the current frosts won´t destroy them...

A to je fakt jen malá ochutnávka, protože jsme kvůli zimě a časové tísní pak už dost pospíchali ;) Joo, v Praze je spousta pěkných parků a zelených míst. Prokopské údolí, Divoká Šárka, Modřanská rokle, Kunratický les, Hostivařská přehrada a tak dále... ;) Jak by řekl klasik (skupina PSH): Praha není jen most a hrad ;)
Ha, tak o tom nepochybujem, Praha je urcite jednym z najkrajsich hlavnych miest ake poznam..
chodieval som tam pracovat pocas mojich dvojmesacnych prazdnin v skole ale to bolo v obdobi, kedy PSH vydalo tu songu..a pravdu povedat jedina priroda ktora ma v tom veku zaujimala bola ta, co sa dala sfajcit.. :D

What a wonderful photo exhibition. The vivid colors of the flowers are very captivating. The daffodil is one of my personal favorites, seeing it in your post really reminded me of just how much I adore the beauty of nature.

I´m sorry that your summer is over down there on the southern hemisphere guys but I thought that even South Africa is still "subtropical enough" to enjoy some greenery all year round. Your trees really shed leaves and flowers die?
Most trees shed their leaves here. And most plants freeze since our temperature goes down to -4 degree Celsius (24F) in our town. Closer to the coast the plants stay alive and happy 😌😁

Máte to tam krásne. Na Stromovku som chodila vždy rada. Praha má veľmi pekné parky. No, viem si predstaviť, že to na tých fotkách teplo len vyzerá. My sme teraz na Slovensku a vonku krásne svieti slnko, ale je strašná zima. A ten vietor sa nedá vydržať.
Jar máme asi rovnakú, aj kvety kvitnú v rovnaký čas 🙂

Přesně jak říkáš, fotky vypadají jarně, možná až skoro letně, ale ve skutečnosti byla pořádná zima! :D V noci tu dokonce pořád mrzne, tak snad ten mráz všechnu tu krásu nespálí... Tak si užijte čas doma s rodinou, předpokládám, že tam budete až do Velikonoc... A kdybyste náhodou zavítali i sem do Prahy, jak jsme se nedávno bavili, tak se určitě ozvi ;) Hezký den i tobě a tvé drahé polovičce se slabostí pro středověká brnění :D ;)
My sme sa dnes zobudili do snehu a sneží celý deň 😂 a ja už mám letné gumy na aute, ktorým sme prišli, takže teraz ani nemôžeme nikam ísť...
Ďakujem 🤗 ostaneme ešte týždeň po Veľkej Noci, potom musíme odísť, lebo nás čaká doma záhradka. Bohužial sa nám tentokrát nepodarí prísť do Prahy, lebo pôjdeme cez Viedeň, ale určite dám vedieť, keď budeme mať cestu 🙂 dúfam, že vy v tom čase nebudete žiť niekde v trópoch 😉
Jaj, tak to vás tentokrát to počasí teda pěkně dostalo, to mě mrzí... Tady v Praze dnes celý den svítilo slunko. Ráno byla sice ještě námraza, ale odpoledne na sluníčku to bylo na krátký rukáv :) Snad se oteplí i u vás, abyste mohli aspoň někam na výlet...
No, u nás člověk nikdy neví, ale pokud ještě budeme v Praze, když si sem někdy uděláte cestu, moc rádi se s vámi sejdeme ;)

The other week, I went picnicking with my boyfriend in a park up North of Cebu City; it was great there but now I'm daydreaming the park would've look more magical if there were flowers. There were huge trees but only a few flowers that were really not attention grabbers as the ones in your photos.
Really? That´s interesting because most of the natural tropical places around the world that I have visited were full of various blooming plants, regardless of the season... Maybe the park that you are talking about was up in the mountains where only certain species thrive?
It's just a few meters from the National Road so it's a bit odd. Or maybe the management of the park didn't plant enough flowering plants for me to notice.

Thank you! Well, I would love to take even closer close ups but my old phone wouldn´t let me, this is pretty much the best that I can get out of it when it comes to close ups :D :/

Hahaha I know this too well my friend! Been allergic to so many plants and trees since I was a little kid but interestingly enough, cold weather somehow suppresses the itching and sneezing seizures for me. It was almost freezing that day so I was actually fine and could enjoy all the floral beauty. But once it gets warmer, my allergy will be back and my asthma probably too :D :/
What a post so full of colors, different flowers of different sizes and shapes, I think that of all the flowers you showed the only one I knew or the only one I had seen before I think are the last ones that are orange.
