Unexpected urban portrait photography - with Fauno [Eng/Esp]

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

A couple of days ago I attended a Freestyle event, I have already shared with you in some other occasion photographs of this style, but this time is a little different. When the event started I was taking pictures of the moment (I will surely share some of these later, they have been really complicated to edit), but after a couple of hours there was a break and in that break, one of the participants approached me to ask if I could take a picture of him and as I knew him and had taken some pictures of him before, I accepted, besides having a flannel that I liked a lot.

Hace un par de días asistí a un evento de Freestyle, ya he compartido con ustedes en alguna otra ocasión fotografías de este estilo, pero en esta ocasión es un tanto diferente. Cuando comenzó el evento yo me encontraba realizando las fotografías del momento (seguro comparta algunas de estas más adelante, realmente han sido complicadas de editar), pero pasados un par de horas había un receso y en ese descanso, uno de los participantes se acercó a preguntarme si podía hacerle una fotografía y como yo le conocía y le había hecho alguna foto antes, acepté, además de tener una franela que me gustó mucho.

When I take pictures in Freestyle events I try to capture more the essence of the moment, the expressions of the competitors or those emotions full of adrenaline in which they are, but as these photos were more photos with model, I decided to make some portraits, some to focus the view on the features of the model, but also others where you could appreciate the flannel he was carrying, because as I said before, I really liked it a lot and the face that can be seen there is of a Venezuelan rapper quite famous internationally, just the flannel has his name "Canserbero".

Cuando realizo fotografías en eventos de Freestyle intento captar más la esencia del momento, las expresiones de los competidores o esas emociones llenas de adrenalina en la que se encuentran, pero como estas fotos eran más fotos con modelo, decidí hacer algunos retratos, algunas para centrar la vista en los rasgos del modelo, pero también otras donde se apreciara la franela que cargaba, porque como dije antes, realmente me gustó mucho y es que el rostro que se aprecia allí es de un rapero venezolano bastante famoso internacionalmente, justo la franela tiene su nombre “Canserbero”.

I'm sure I've already shared some other photographs that have this same background and I really think it's an excellent place when it comes to taking urban photographs, I consider that there is nothing more urban than street art, so I told him that the photographs would look excellent there, plus the sun was right in that direction, so we could not miss that opportunity. The editing was quite simple, but I did try to highlight the model a lot so that the attention would be focused on him and his flannel.

Ese fondo que se aprecia son de murales bastante cercanos de donde se estaba realizando el evento y estoy seguro de que ya he compartido algunas otras fotografías que tienen este mismo fondo y es que realmente me parece un excelente lugar cuando de hacer fotografías urbanas se trata, considero que no hay nada más urbano que el arte callejero, por lo que le dije que ahí quedarían excelentes las fotografías, además que el sol justo estaba en esa dirección, por lo que no podíamos dejar pasar esa oportunidad. La edición fue bastante sencilla, lo que sí, intenté resaltar bastante al modelo para que la atención se centre en él y en su franela.

Finally, you have a closer photo of the flannel, which again and I repeat, I liked quite a lot. So far the publication, thank you very much for spending one more day here. I hope you liked the pictures, I'm seriously thinking of taking pictures of the participants apart from the event, not while they are freestyling, but as models, it would be interesting, but we'll see.
