Buenas amigos de Hive, les presento una belleza que identifica a nuestro país Venezuela de hecho es uno de nuestros símbolos naturales, está hermosura es nuestra flor la orquídea, les cuánto un poco, ella fue decretada como la flor nacional de Venezuela el 23 de mayo de 1951. Su nombre le rinde honor al botánico William Cattley, quien fue el primero en lograr su reproducción en un invernadero en 1818.
También es conocida como la “Flor de Mayo”, ya que desde el siglo XIX se la usa como ornamento de la Cruz de Mayo.
La acompañan como símbolos Nacionales de Venezuela el Turpial y el Araguaney. Orquídea es la flor nacional de Venezuela.
La podemos encuentrar en los estados Miranda, Aragua, Carabobo, Yaracuy, Lara Portuguesa y en toda la zona andina. Está les muestra acá, está aquí en Cantaura, la mantienen muy bien conservada ya que es una planta muy delicada pues crece o se sostienen de los tronco de los árboles o algo similar.
El color de sus pétalos va del violeta claro al lila, en tanto que en la parte interna del labelo se observa una coloración amarilla veteada con manchas de violeta intenso. El labelo de la Cattleya sobresale por sus líneas onduladas que simulan la turgente forma de un cuerpo de mujer, razón por la cual se le considera el símbolo de la feminidad y la belleza en Venezuela.
