Expressing Your Thoughts Through Art
Most likely art has a lot of definitions and it means a different thing to each individual and there are cases when it means nothing, depending on how you see it. For many artists creating an artwork is expressing their thoughts, or communicating with the outside world through art.
This is why I'm always trying to guess what the artist was thinking about creating the artwork or what's the message they tried to pass on when creating it. Sometimes I think I know what they meant (that doesn't mean I'm right), while other times I have no clue. That is not necessarily a problem in my eyes, as I've seen several artworks that I loved and had no clue what those meant. If it pleases my eyes and see some meaning in it, I'm fine with it.
At the last exhibition I visited, which was a selection From The International Fine Art Camp, I saw this piece of wood displayed. I started smiling and those who are following my blog may know why. My first thought was what would the other visitors say about it and if they would see the meaning. I have an obsession for cut wood and when I saw this, I was thinking what a wonderful pattern and interesting cut.
The title of the artwork is Piece. What is interesting to note here, besides the pattern the wood displays is the cut, which is made slantwise, to make the pattern longer and more interesting. The log also has some interesting prints on it, but can't figure out what's caused it as it's not man made, or at least I don't think so.
Flood
This was an unusual piece to be honest. I've seen textile art before, but not like this one. It's interesting though.
Vision
This was also a puzzle for me as I couldn't figure out what the artist visioned here or what that shape could mean.
Space
No Title
The artist lets us decide what it has to be decided as the artwork has no title. I don't think I could comment on this, so I'll let you decide. However, let me know if you have a comment on this :)
For me, this was the highlight of the exhibition. When I saw this piece, I knew I would stand in front of it for 10 minutes, examining every singe detail and that's exactly what I did.
It is called Lăzarea Diary, where Lăzarea is the name of the village where the art camp is organized every year. As I mentioned in my previous post, there's a castle where the camp is organized.
To show you what fascinated me so much, I took a bunch of close up photos. The artwork had a brick rectangle shape and as you can see, there were like pages bind together, to really look like a journal.
I tried to figure out if the text is real, legible or just imitating writing for the artwork, but don't think is legible.
Looks at this page for example. At the top it has a design that most likely is a crest. Nobles had their crest printed on the letter paper.
No, the photo is not upside down, the design was.
There was even a guitar on one of the pages and the text was written written from right to left.
Seeing so many castles, churches on the artwork made me think these might have been from the neighboring villages.
This artwork was really fascinating, but in a certain way a puzzle too as I could not figure out how it was made.
While I was writing my post, was thinking of how I can connect with some of the artworks and can't with the others.
Then in the next room, I got to see some totally different artworks.
Self Defense Kit
Duality
I loved this one too, quite a lot. It seemed interesting to me, especially because of the angle the nest was painted.
Incarnations
I stood in front of these, trying to find out what I was looking at.
From Nature
Lumberman
I'm sure there's much more here, than I am able to figure out on my own. I liked this one too, especially the details. Lifting the pine tree like that was an original idea.
Overall it was a very cool exhibition, with a very colorful offer. I like it when I get a mix of everything.

Thanks for showing us what art is.
My main reason for living art is, I always wonder is it how making how
Imaginations are?
Because of the work of na artiste is what he has imagined, then we are blessed with the greatest gift. Art is wonderful.
Thanks for sharing
Art is indeed wonderful if you can appreciate it.
The last part though
“… if you can appreciate it”
Art has a way of telling stories.
And a perculiar thing about art is how the artist can actually leave one guessing to no avail.
Like the VISION slide I looked at it twice to see the intention of the artist but I can't figure it out..
Well in my view art is unique
And I love all slides regardless
That is very true, it's a way of communication, if you're open to see that it is in front of you.
Right 😊
That pattern in the wood is truly an art by nature. I'm looking forward to see this kind of thing whenever I cut some firewoods. especially when I use a saw to cut a big wood.
That art with the pages caught my attention too since it's looks like a magical book to me with those writings and the design of each pages.
Thanks for sharing.
In my opinion nature is the best and the biggest artist. You're lucky to have the opportunity to cut wood and see those lovely patterns.
I agree, that journal is beautiful.
A lot of deep meaning in those works of art. The log is interesting. I like the fact at it's cracked in the middle by the drying process of wood. The stains look like an attempt to stop the cracking.
I love the diary thing. There's a lot going on there. Btw, that's a violin, not a guitar. I think a guitar in the entries of the diary would be really weird. An element of mistery is embedded in all those entries. Looks like a depiction of events during a festival.
For the others, I don't have a lot to say. I liked them self-defense kits. I see there's some choices there whether you like close quarters and to keep your distance.
It is interesting indeed and I'm surprised I did not see that.
Ooops, it is indeed a violin 😂 looks like I was tired and did not pay attention.
There's a lot to say. I mean look at the core of that log. It has a very interesting shape. I bet the grain of the split pieces would be awesome for builds.
All the elements of the painting are very distracting. 🤣
For no title, How if "The books is a window to the world" because I see that there are rows of books and maybe that's what it means without having to explain one by one the symbols that are there. I am sorry if wrong. Blessing
Only the artist knows and they let us decide, so whatever you can think of.
The artist that made this exhibiton have a really unique vision of art, i love when art makes everyone think diffrerents things and meanings, this was pleasent for the eye!
They certainly do as there are interesting pieces there.
I suppose that depends on the individuals' preference, level of knowledge and who knows what else.
As usual, another blog that reminds us that art can have deeper meanings, messages to portray, and even tells us that it can be possibly seen even in woods, and other things.
I couldn't agree more. Well said.
I like art, and I don't. A piece of wood? Artist mother nature gets an A+ for that, but a human displaying it and calling it art? Mixed feelings about exhibits like this.
I like the Lăzarea Diary too. It looks like an old copper engraving from the distance but I get mixed feelings about the last exhibit. The lumberman for sure is artistic and has a decent message I suppose, but the way it is drawn reminds me on those old soviet depiction of people if I can say it this way. I hope you know what I mean lol.
No title? Very expressionistic. First was Picasso and a bit of Munch popping through my head. Pablo wins and I would title it Woman. 😁
Lol, I keep saying everyone sees different things when looking at the same artwork and here is the proof. I like your comment and value your review. Imagine going to and exhibition and debating artworks at the scene 😂 Would be a lot of fun and noisy too.
It is on the list 😄.
Art is truly everywhere. This art gallery is unique it has different depictions on things. That Lumberman got me! Haha. Awww! Sexy!😍😍
Lol, so you like the lumberman 😃 I'm glad you have a favorite.
Haha, Adonis chopping wood!
Have a beautiful hump day Erikah.
I don't know what time it is on your end though, probably night time already. So hope you have a great evening.😉😍🥰
You look very beautiful and with love. In my opinion, every real artist has views of a normal person to show his works to others or even for himself. Every work of art has something to say
That is very true.
I also can't understand that artwork with just single lines making an almost square shape. For sure when the artist is being ask for sure he would have a clear answer what it does mean.
Sometimes I regret not going to openings as i could ask the artist what I don't understand, but there's a crowd at the openings and there's no way I can take photos, so I would have to go back again. But who has that much free time?
Ah you're right, if you there in the opening for sure you could ask the artist but you can't take pictures. You still need another time to go back just to take pictures.
Lăzarea Diary was my favorite. I love arts with a lot of detail. It looks fascinating and I love discovering every detail slowly. Same goes for historical buildings. I love their details a lot.
Details are good and make everything more interesting.
