Camping Life Photography 🔥
During the Golden Week Holidays in Japan, my family and some friends went camping at a nearby spot. It was the first time my kids went camping and I am happy to say they actually enjoyed it. I think as boys on their way to becoming men, camping/outdoor/ survival skills are necessary in this uncertain world. Though camping these days is more of a luxury activity, there are still many skills they can learn.
On this their first time camping, I don'T think I taught them anything directly, but just by observing the adults around, I think they got a good introduction. Another thing is, camping was not a part of my lifestyle back in Jamaica. It wasn't popular at all so even a simple task of pitching a tent is still a little struggle for me. But for the boys, that wont be the case.
On the photography side of things, I was really curious about taking shots in the dark as it is something I don't do often, especially around firelight. In the picture below, I like how the light shines and highlights Kamar's face. Though many of the shots didn't come out well, I am getting to understand my camera more. I kinda also like the blurred effect.
The kids at the camp, all boys, spent most of their time keeping the fire burning by throwing leaves, wood, pine cones and using the fire blow pipe which was their favorite. We had two grills on site, a light weight simple grill and a mid weight barrel. They both served us well through the day and night. The simple grill belonged to "salt Bae below 😄.
Of course these pics below are my favorite. You would think they were gathering for the fire but actually they were just gathering wood and playing on the log. But that is fine as it kept them occupied and entertained which gave us more time to grill and chill.
All in all it was a great time camping and I am sure we will be at it again soon. I only wish I took more photos but there wasn't much time for that. I hope you enjoy the photos and before you go, tell me something, have you been camping recently?
The best times in life was camping when my kids were small
It really is enjoyable, especially because it gets them away from the screens.
When I was kid, we went camping every summer on the banks of the river Danube... We would be out in the woods for 2-3 weeks and it was an excellent school for myself and I have some fantastic memories from that period of life... Except for mosquitos... I still hate them... 🤣
Like your night photos as I know how hard it is to take them... :) Your children will remember this experience for life!
I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project which will be highlighted in the next post!
2-3 weeks? Now that's something I'd love to do but can't imagine 😂
Ah the bugs, here they have some bugs that go straight for the eyes, not sure what’s up with that but it is very annoying ( along with the mosquitoes )
For
Real and that’s what it’s all about. Making those memories.
Blessings bro 😎
Yeah... we would eat fish for 6 of 7 days of the week... lol... the rest were canned food, ham, sausages, etc. as it was pretty far from "civilization"...
Camping with my family are some of my fondest childhood memories! It's awesome to see this post and the captures of your good times!
Camping is a real good activity for the entire family. And indeed makes for good memories. Once the equipment is all bought, not too costly either unlike a 5 star hotel 😂
good photo friend I congratulate you and nothing better to be with your family and loved ones
Thanks man, making the memories that will last. Blessings!
@dmilliz I think there is a problem with reggaejahm.com, the voting results are incorrect. Don't shrink :)

Cool picnic!

It happens once in a while.( rarely). Will watch it and see.
@limka sent me 188992.7729334 JAHM, I still don’t know what to do with them, I’m waiting for an answer from him about what it was, suddenly the person’s nerves just broke down and he decided to make a gesture of goodwill, while I’ll hold the coins, if two days there will be silence, then I will burn it.
Really beautiful moments you captured. I had an experience of a camp fire in February and the memories are still very fresh.
Hey, I noticed you used Threads back in March. The User interface works better now, maybe you want to give it another try!
