The Weather turns at Sunshine Meadows
As we continue our journey up here at Sunshine Meadows, we are just passing beautiful Rock Isle lake, and now we are headed toward Grizzly lake. As you can probably see, the clouds are starting to turn darker. Not what I had wanted to see. Just minutes ago, the sun was out in full force mostly. One thing I have come to know, living in the Rockies, is that the weather can turn on a dime, in your favour or against. I was really hoping these clouds would miss the area. As it turned out, it was just a mix of sun and cloud till the finish, thankfully it did not rain!

Dear friend @daveks you really love black and white photography and it is wonderful, I agree. Wonderful post with excellent shots
Yes, I have been a big fan of black and white photography, ever since discovering Ansel Adams. Glad you stopped by.
💙
a very beautiful place, but something is missing, there are no turtles.
Love them turtles right? Looking forward to visiting Yankee lake sometime again in the future. Thanks.
Yes, I am very interested in turtles. I once found a turtle but when I got closer the turtle went into its house and closed it tightly. Is there a special trick so they don't enter the house when we approach it?
As always, excellent photographs of a stunning place. It is really beautiful and good that these types of places still exist. With nature and open spaces quickly becoming scarcer, development taking over everything, these enclaves will become rarer. Thank you for sharing!
That's for sure. It such a great feeling to be out in nature, with few or no other people around. Thanks.
I appreciate those moments the most. Out in nature either on a big open grass field or in dense woods with all of the animal and insect noises around you.
Beautiful place, it looks ideal for resting. Excellent pictures. Regards ☺️
Mostly hiking, with the occasional rest. Thanks.
These are very stunning images you've shared, the place looks good for relaxation. Thank you for sharing
Thanks. Beautiful relaxing views, yes!
In black and white, your concern really stands out ... there is no sense of a refuge for you to find if things were to go wrong ... but in color there is better definition of water, level ground, mountain, and sky ... the remoteness is sort of hidden by the beauty ... Rock Isle Lake is equally beautiful, though very different, in both modes!
Didn't even have an umbrella with, but I should have. Need to be more prepared for next time! Thanks for dropping a comment.
Such a lovely meadow to have a relaxing walk while enjoying its beauty.
It really was magnificent, thanks.
Loving this place
Thanks.
So loving
Thanks for looking.
It was still a sunny day overall, although I think you could notice the darker clouds on the horizon as if a storm was brewing. Beautiful shots
We did get just a sprinkling of rain, but it was over quickly. Thanks for stopping by.
Holy cow, I wouldn't get tired of seeing your landscape photos ever!... That first photo has perfect framing and delicious depth... And what light and colors!... Big round of applause for you my talented friend!...

Beautiful shots, well done my friend. So nice in color and the black and white.
Thanks man.
Muy bellos paisajes
Thanks.
What a pretty little lake and great scenery. I love pine trees and those paths are really well groomed. No bush whacking for you on this adventure! With those gray clouds moving in it made those monochrome images look awesome. That looks like it's worth a return trip.
Indeed, looking forward to the 2025 hiking season! Thanks for stopping by as usual.
