Enjoying the gondola ride to Sunshine Meadows, and then open air chair lift for the final stretch, so many photo ops on the way! Fantastic fun it was, and beautiful weather to accompany us. I really love this area called Sunshine meadows. It is located inside Banff Park. Best known for its ski resort in the winter, but my favourite part is the summertime for its hiking trails. I take hiking over skiing pretty much anytime. How about you, hiking or skiing / snowboarding, which do you prefer?

For years it was always something I wanted to do, but never did it. Then finally went and loved it! Last summer was my 3rd time up.

Definitely spend more time hiking!! But, really enjoy a lovely day on my snowboard under the right conditions! Long live the great outdoors & fresh air! Also, please don't freeze! I heard how cold my homelands are lately. Brrr.❄️

For me it has pretty much always been hiking, and typically with the camera, because you never know what you might see!

I noticed you have a shot of some dead trees... do you have an issue with Pine Beetles there? I know they've decimated large swaths of forest in Colorado and Montana...

Thanks to the colder weather up here, not an issue nowadays, as far as I know. I guess there was problems pre 2022 though.

Good shots from the gondola, I think skiing is done during the snow period, isn't it? Hiking definitely, because you can stop and take good pictures.

Yes, you need snow to ski/snowboard. That being said, when the snow is not that abundant, often times the resort make their own snow with machines. Thanks for stopping by.

Nice shots my friend, I prefer to keep my feet on the ground due to age. No need for getting myself hurt these days but snowboarding was very fun back in the day.

I get that. Hiking is safer for sure, unless you run into a bear or cougar...lol

Those are some great shots you got from the ski lift! Sure is a beautiful area. Did the top offer some more trails to explore? It looks like some great terrain in winter for skiing though!

The meadows on top are where most of the trails are. One of the most popular places in Canada for winter skiing and snowboarding. Still prefer the Summer though.
