High Elevation Hiking

Photography Lovers

This is a great feeling, open space high altitude hiking! Walking the trail on top of the mountain tops. Even to get up to this elevation requires assistance via chairlift. Altitude is approximately 2,300 metres or 7,500 feet. A thrilling experience to say the least. When hiking at higher altitudes, it does require a higher level of fitness as well, due to the reduced oxygen in the air. That being said, I could barely sense any difference, others in my group though may not have felt the same way.

Hiking is a practice that I have wanted to do for some time but as you say, the higher the altitude, the higher the physical resistance, something very important to take into account. As always your photos are great @daveks friend! Thanks for sharing these brilliant shots 🔥

Hiking is an activity that I would like to do in the future but We don't have a lot of altitudes where I live, so hiking would be hard for someone like me. Thanks for your sharing

Oh no doubt ! This would be some very high altitudes. There would be no way I could even begin to go up that mountain 🏔️🏔️🏔️🏔️. Do rock climbers have a way of defining the lever of intensity of this mountain ? I know they do for skiing. But what ever, It looks like it would be some kind of hard to get there to the top.

Rock climbing is way above my pay grade, I'm just your average hiker. The danger factor of actual rock climbing is just a bit too much for me.

I know what you mean. I know that there's people who really love that sport and train everyday. But I can't not could I ever be that dedicated.

Ok I'm being a bit of an airhead today. 🙃
They actually have chairlifts on that giant mountain ? WOW that's amazing ! Do they have helicopters waiting on top to get the tourist down ? Once they get up there, some might have such anxiety about going back down that there's no way of getting them back on the chair. ????? I, myself don't mind heights, it's the falling I have a problem with...LoL
If there's a lot of bouncing around and creaking noises, nope I don't want to be there. LoL
I'm glad that the thin air doesn't bother you. Makes for better fun and knowing that you can go higher without a problem.

If you miss the chairlift close, then I guess you are either stuck at the top or having to hike down, which is doable, but unless you are up to the task it will be likely a tough experience. If you are lucky, maybe you can catch a ride down with a Sunshine village employee or something..no helicopters in this area.

I think you're already used to hiking, if you weren't, it'll be difficult to keep up with that climbing. We don't have a lot of high altitude where I come from, so climbing will be really difficult for someone like me. Great shots you've got there.
