Otammari - Benin - A free life
Otammari, or Tammari, is a sub-saharan ethnic group living in Benin (West Africa).
They are farmers and also have livestock.
Their houses are usually built with clay. At the ground livestock sleep during night, and the upper floor is used as granaries, to dry wheat.
Around village many wheat and corn fields.
There are many things to say about their religion (animist) e lifestyle, but in this post I will focus on the girl with orange foulard, because of her expression has caught me. She is young but also so serious...
And i'm asking about her thoughts.
She never smiled at us.
She had a special look, like a wild and free animal.
Africa is still a mistery for me, but one thing I know: here you feel an unique call to life.

I'm getting curious about there life style. I would like to know more about
Vivid photos. Beautiful!
Life in villages is not easy it is difficult but everything is pure there and there is much health but poor people cannot live well there either.
Yes, I know it is difficult, but they are something we have lost, for example they give much value to community.
Yeah you are right.
I have seen the houses built with Clay when i lived in the village. Village life is a good life.

If only massive development and come to this village, the villagers will be more happy
yes, but I hope also that they don't lose their culture and tradition because of development.
In village life, these women and child help the heads of their family to gather and raise their crops to feed their families. Their desires are short.
Thank you for making me hear about Otammari for the first time. Thanks for backing it up with pictures

That was really a free life though
A continent blessed with both human and mineral resources. This is just a taste of what Africa is made off.
Thank you for taking us on a tour through Tammari.
😍
Beautiful people living over abundant wealth which stolen from under their feet by greedy European colonizers.
