Esta semana me estoy preparando para compartir una de mis composiciones originales con el piano. Recuerdo que mis padres me dejaban solo en casa, y entonces la inspiración fluía continuamente sin interrupciones. La melodía podía venir producto de una experiencia personal, una imagen o de una secuencia de notas que me agradaban. Me encantaba crear transiciones o puentes entre el coro y las estrofas. A veces me gusta escribir tanto en verso como en prosa. Una palabra, un objeto, un sentimiento podía ser la fuente de esa inspiración. Entonces, al mismo tiempo que iba produciendo la melodía, iba incorporando la armonía. Me gustaba mucho experimentar con los acordes con el propósito de obtener un color diferente. No sé si lo han hecho en alguna oportunidad y han experimentado con las notas musicales de la escala diatónica. Pueden tocar una nota con un piano o una guitarra, cerrar los ojos y pensar en un color relacionado con esa nota. El C puede ser el rojo, el D es el naranja, el E es el Amarillo, y así sucesivamente. Hay un método de educación musical llamado Kodaly que incluye señas y colores. Esa relación entre el mundo de los colores y la música es una muestra de que todas las manifestaciones artísticas están relacionadas.

The melody could come from a personal experience, an image or a sequence of notes that I liked. I loved creating transitions or bridges between the chorus and the verses. Sometimes I like to write in both verse and prose. A word, an object, a feeling could be the source of that inspiration. So, at the same time that he was producing the melody, he was incorporating the harmony. I really liked to experiment with chords in order to get a different color. I don't know if you have ever done it and experimented with the musical notes of the diatonic scale. They can play a note on a piano or guitar, close their eyes, and think of a color related to that note. C can be red, D is orange, E is yellow, and so on. There is a method of music education called Kodaly that includes signs and colors. This relationship between the world of colors and music is a sign that all artistic manifestations are related.

Hoy quiero compartir mi interpretación con la trompeta de «Mía» de Armando Manzanero. Un Bolero Clásico compuesto en 1967. La letra es una mezcla de amor, resignación, y recuerdos. Es muy característico del Bolero y de la música latinoamericana mostrar a la mujer como una preciada posesión, y es evidente que al pasarla por el filtro de la modernidad puede resultar incómoda. Es una canción muy romántica, y refleja nostalgia por la entrega total entre un hombre y una mujer que se ama. Me gusto mucho tocarla, hay un intervalo de una octava que tiene su grado de dificultad. Como vengo de un fin de semana de inactividad, me ha costado un poco. Espero disfruten de la pieza musical.
