False Start!

My wife and I had a bit of a scare when we embarked on our anniversary trip the other day. We read the board wrong and we were sitting at the wrong gate for maybe 15 minutes. Just by chance I happened to look at the Fly Delta App on my phone and I realized that we were at the wrong gate.

Luckily, our gate was just down the terminal from where we were, but they had already started boarding the plane, so we really dodged a bullet there. If we had waited much longer, we might have ended up in a really bad position.

Talk about a false start!

In fact, there were any number of things leading up to our trip that had us wondering if we should just cancel the whole thing or push through. It's easy to believe that you might be cursed when so many things line up in a row.

An accident with a deer, a flat tire, almost missing your flight. It's enough to make even the stalwart falter.

Speaking of false starts, I've got a ton of content from my recent trip to share with you, but I am a little hesitant to put it down in writing. In fact, I am still recovering from the whirlwind trip that took us out East.

It doesn't help that after returning home I am doing a quick 180 and heading to my annual conference for Education Technology professionals. Pretty much just enough time to unpack and mow my lawn before I have to turn around and head out again.

With that in mind, this is going to be a short post, but I promise I have some good stuff in the works. Actually, not as much as I had planned due to a couple of reasons that will become apparent through the course of my posts, but still some exceptional content.

I look forward to sharing it with you!

I get a bit paranoid when I'm flying and always check things like the gate multiple times. Mind you, I've been caught out with trains a few times, but that's not generally as critical.

Yeah, I think paranoid is a good way to put it. I totally understand what you are saying.

If you had check in baggage, it shouldn't be too bad to be a little late. Apart from your names being called on the speakers, and people staring at you when you enter the plane, they probably will wait for you instead of leaving you behind. It is too much work to remove your baggage. It is good you were able to see it in time though.

Ah, that is a good point. I hadn't thought about that. We might be those people on our flight back. We have a pretty short layover in ATL.

Gosh, I am sorry you and our dear Mrs.bozz had to go through such a tough ride. Life is really at it with you two, but I know you'll both push ahead.

It is nice to know you both didn't miss the flight. I'll be looking forward to reading more of your journey together.

Thanks, yes, we were lucky to figure it all out just in time. It could have been a real disaster!

Yes, it could have. Thankfully, things didn't go north. I hope you both are better now.

I'm very happy that you did not miss the flight even though there was a crazy ride but sorry about the ride...

Been there in the airport at the wrong gate before too. But the deer accident and the flat tire might make you think the travel gods were sending you a message!
!lol

Yeah, for sure. We have a tricky layover tomorrow that I hope we can navigate, but other than that, it was a good trip.

Oh man! I have done the same exact thing before. We were going to board a flight one time and they moved the terminal, but we weren't paying attention. I think I was playing Clash Royale on my phone at the time. We ran over and made it as they were finishing up boarding as well.

It is especially annoying when you get to the airport super early but still almost miss your flight over something silly.

Yeah, in this case I was trying to find the gate and my wife was like oh, it's B12. I kept trying to look and she said you don't believe me? Turns out I should have kept looking. I'd like to believe they changed it to B19 versus her misreading it, but we will never know. Plus we made it in time, so does it really matter?

Wow these "false start" are definitely enough to send me right back and cozy up in the comfort of my home!

Looking forward to the exceptional content that's coming up! 😅

Thanks! I appreciate that. I have a lot of stuff to sort through before I can start posting.

Well, it's important to prioritize real-life matters over posting on Hive. It is much better to to address all your priorities first, and hopefully be able to approach your posts with a clearer and ideally more relaxed mindset when you're ready 😊

It may not have been your fault: Delta changes gates sometimes, so if you miss the announcement, you're out of luck. It's good that we have the apps these days to remind us!

Oh really? I didn't realize that. We got pretty lucky. Today went smooth as can be.
