The First Step On Hive; My Opinion
The First Step On Hive; My Opinion
There is always a first step in starting everything in life, if anyone wants to succeed in doing them, it will be wise to seek them out before venturing into the game, and for different people, there are different approaches.
When my friend spoke to me about Hive, initially I was not interested, I made my reasons clear to him which he considered reasonable yet he gave me reasons why I should come on board. subsequently, he won my heart and I gave in.
The first thing he said I should do was write an introductory post. This is very important, I didn't know the reason back then and I considered it burdensome, but recently I understood why. When you go into a new organization, you are required to make yourself known. Your colleagues and those in the environment would love to know you, but they will never know you until you do an introduction.
There were many times, I had to go back to people's introductory posts to check some information about them. If an introductory post wasn't there, I wonder where I would have gotten those pieces of information from. It also helps prevent people from playing smart, having multiple accounts, and using all for their greed to earn more.
The first step is to make an introductory post, and an introductory post, just like the title implies, one is expected to write about himself, his/her aim of coming to Hive, what you will be doing on the chain, how you found the chain and who brought you on board. An introductory post is expected to have these tags #introductorypost #introduceyourself #introducemyself #myintroduction #newbie #ocd and other general tags like #proofofbrain #neoxian e.t.c, an introductory post is also expected to have one's original pictures about what they've talked about while introducing themselves. For example, if you talk about your family, your job, your skills, and so on, you need to back them up with pictures. You can include as many pictures of yourself as possible even the ones you didn't talk about.
One thing I love about Hive is the fact that most of the things done here are real. One is not expected to lie. You can also decide to use one of your finest pictures as your thumbnail. If one writes a very good introductory post with original pictures, the person's post might be curated by OCD. Yeah, imagine getting some dollars for just coming on board. Lastly, introductory posts are to be published in the OCD community.
What Should Be My Goals As A Newbie On Hive?
Well, everyone has what they hope to achieve at the end of the day. But for me, I think every newbie should first of all be focused on how to grow their accounts. And how would they achieve that? Through engagement, that is, interacting with the posts of others. It would Open the door to having friends and then make you recognized by the communities. Hive is not a place where you just come and dump posts and go, no! It's a place where we appreciate each other.
The next thing is to ensure you create quality content, This is where most people have issues because a lot of them want quick money, so they go about copying other's posts or articles and Using them as theirs, that's plagiarism and some generate content using Ai ( artificial Intelligence). If you want to stay safe on Hive as a newbie, stay far from those two things I just mentioned. sourcing of pictures is also very paramount.
A hard-working newbie, who engages well, and also provides quality posts has a high chance of growing very fast on the chain. Getting upvotes is not guaranteed but I guarantee you, Hive doesn't take hard work for granted but your post must be good enough and with the right tags. This is why you see some powerful authors with low upvotes but average authors with good upvotes. When you go behind the scenes, you will discover that the big upvotes came as a result of hard work. (engagement plus good content)
I would advise every newbie, to set a target of the hive power, HBD, followers, and reputation, they hope to achieve, advisably at the end of every six months. Also to burst your engagement, have targets for the number of posts you want to engage on every day in every community you are active on.
Why Should I Join Hive?
Hive is a world of opportunities, I won't lie, what I have earned so far on Hive is far better than what I have earned from my work offline. Okay, I know your job might be paying well but come to think of it, how about having another source of income that doesn't necessarily need you to leave your home? You can work anytime, any day you wish without anyone giving you a query for not working. These days we all know how hard things are, having one source of income is not enough anymore. Hive isn't demanding like offline jobs, you can do it anytime you want and still get your earnings.
For those of you who are not working, well, this is an opportunity for you, a job in which you are in charge of everything, you work anytime you want. What do you need for this job? Just know how to read and write, have a smartphone and you are qualified. From your homes, you can make your cool cash.
Do you need to refer or perform any special task to earn? Absolutely not, just your posts are enough, and to make it easy, there are always topics given by communities to write on. So you don't have to worry about what to write.
I was not a good writer before, but I learned how to write here on the chain, imagine coming to a place where you are taught how to work and then still get paid for it. There are many reasons why one should join Hive and I bet you, if you are not on the chain yet, you are missing big time.
Hive is crypto, as you earn through your posts, your income doesn't remain dormant in your account like our other currencies in the bank, here your money has the chance of doubling anytime, any day without you doing anything depending on how the crypto market goes.
You also have the privilege to save your earnings and earn 20% APR of your savings. There is nothing like charges, all transactions are free. Nobody will charge you for keeping your money safe for you, isn't that beautiful?
Where Should I Start From?
Well, there are many communities on Hive, one can start anywhere but then, I will always recommend Hive learners community, as the name implies, it is a community where learners are transformed into experts. I was made there too. Try as much as possible to join the newbies initiative program and your journey on hive won't be as difficult as others see it. Also, try as much as possible to explore other communities, hive is a big world. Go on a tour and be exposed but beware of community rules and regulations.

.Thanks for posting. I've sent this off to the #hivepakistan curation project to try and get you an upvote.
I think #hivelearners is a great community but having just onboarded a new member I told her to join it a little bit later. My reason: They require Discord authentification and not all new users are comfortable with Discord :)
Personally I told her to join the #earn, spend, give community because fewer rules, no registration, and I'll be here to help her on ;)
Great post and thank you.
I'll be posting my viewpoints on this topic tomorrow but always great to get a few views on any topic.
Thanks again
Thank you so much too sir. The verification process is something else, but if she person does it well, it will be approved. I personally don't like discord that much but then, somethings are to be taken the way they are, we will get used to it as time goes on
I never thought I would ever use Discord. I knew about it forever because my kids are both gamers. Thought no-way, never, ever. But grudgingly I used it for Hive Learner verification, then again for HivePakistan curation, then again to colaborate with monica-ene for frugal community.
Got sucked in even though I didn't want to :)
I understand that feeling.. it is well
This is good, I like the fact about how you highlighted that anyone can be on hive as long as they are willing to learn, we were not all writers before joining hive, but now we can write quality and acceptable blog posts.
Honestly, we all started from somewhere and see where we are today..
Thanks for reading ma
