Warhammer Review Library - Deathwatch Index and Imperial Agents Index replaced by Codex Imperial Agents!

Source

Hello everyone! Zak here with a review update.

So the whole reason I put a fast-track on the Deatchwatch and Imperial Agents Index Datasheets was because of this release. I have done the same for Blood Angels but that will be a separate post when they get released.

So... the Deathwatch is mostly gone. You can still play them, some of the units at least. But it is not as it was before. This post will beak down the changes!

Let's start with Datasheets

Datasheets

Deathwatch Index had the following 11 Datasheets:

And Imperial Agents Index had the following 17 Datasheets:

So 28 Datasheets together.

The Imperial Agents Codex has 27 Datasheets. Does that mean we only lost 1 Datasheet? Nope... Its a bit more complicated than that.

This is the 27 Datasheets:

Detachments and Army Rule

So the worst part is that Imperial Agents did not really get an Army Rule. They still have the rule that allows you to stick them into other armies. But there is no rules buff for having them as an army on their own.

Most Armies have a buff and then the Detachment you choose gives another buff. Here, there is no advantage for the army itself.

What is worse is that the Deathwatch, formerly a Space Marine subfaction has technically lost the ability to do Oath of Moment... which I hope they fix. You COULD take a Space Marine army with Deathwatch colours and then use the Imperial Agents rules to put a few specialist Deathwatch units into your Space Marine Army... but then those allied units cannot use Oath of Moment! Bleh!

As for Detachments, the Ordo Xenos, Alien Hunters one is pretty much the Deathwatch Blackspear Task Force they had before.

You can also play Ordo Hereticus, Purgation Force, Ordo Malleus, Daemon Hunters and Imperialis Fleet Detachments. I shall endeavor to review them all in due time.

The Lost

Finally, the remainder of the ablative Datasheets have moved to Legends rules now.

They include:

FactionUnitReview Number
DeathwatchDeathwatch Terminator Squad#112
DeathwatchFortis Kill Team#116
DeathwatchIndomitor Kill Team#118
DeathwatchKill Team Cassius#120
DeathwatchProteus Killteam#57
DeathwatchSpectrus Kill Team#73
DeathwatchVeteran Bike Squad#84
Imperial AgentsInquisitor Eisenhorn#119
Imperial AgentsInquisitor Karamazov#125

Final Thoughts

That's it for now. I shall have to re-review the ones and review the new. I can just stuck the old ones into a Reviewed Legends Category now...

Thank you for reading!
