Diving into No Man's Sky infinite universe

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

I played No Man's Sky and instantly fell in love with it. The space nerd in me is too happy to finally get my hands on this game. Thank you @bemier for this lovely gift!

There are so many procedurally generated planets in this game with their unique biomes, weather, atmosphere, deposits of minerals, unique flora and fauna, unique moons, ring planets, etc etc. This game has a lot of things.

I would love to share some of the pictures from my first spawn planet. I played with the game mode and couldn't resist taking pictures.

Look at how some of the plants glow at night! I could run this with low settings. I wish I had a better GPU and render all these planets at maximum graphics. But even in low-mid settings, they look fine as hell.

The planet I am currently on is a radioactive planet with some pockets more radioactive than others.

You will find some crashed pods everywhere on the planets. They can be salvaged for parts and other supplies. This part of the planet was a big ditch filled with radioactive smoke. And staying here will reduce the radioactive protection quickly and you have to gather more resources just to recharge the protection.

This spawn planet could have been much better. But it has some rare mineral deposits. I saw Uranium (which I couldn't mine just yet), Cobalt and even Salt.

Occasionally there will be radioactive storms on this planet. Trust me, you wouldn't want to get caught in this one. One should take shelter in their Ships, inside a base/building or in a cave to stay away from the storm.

There are glowing yellow plants in the cave which give Sodium when refined. I found deposits of Cobalt, Silver and even Gold in those caves.

Even though it is a radioactive wasteland, you will still find life thriving here, especially in areas with lower radiation levels. I love these Yellow flowers. But these can't be mined.

But if you get bored with the planet, you can leave it in your Spacecraft (once you fix it) and go to the Space Station too.

I played with the game's 'emotes' and photo mode and captured a few shots. There are not too many of them but they are cool. The Photo mode doesn't have a lot of options too. Just a few options like changing the density of clouds, and fog and adding filters to the shot.

Flying your spacecraft is super fun though. You could shoot the asteroids and mine their minerals. You could fight with other crafts in the game later too. Flying this thing takes a bit of time. But flying past asteroids, planets and space stations feels and looks good. I was flying towards the space station (left) close to a ringed planet.

The Space suit looks good too. I like the overall exploration aspects of the game, how the lightning works and the suits and environment look good even at low graphics. I can see myself playing this game a lot in the future!

YOU ARE CUTE! YES YOU, WHO IS READING!

Btw, it is not actually infinite. But the game has about 18 quintillion (18 x 10^18 or 18,000,000,000,000,000,000) planets. Which is such a huge number, that I will call it an infinite universe. Get ready for 18 quintillion posts too...lol

Until next time...

Played this game long ago, it was free to roam around planets, collect minerals and materials to fix my ship, and upgrade my equipment. I remember having a lot problems with it because of the poison gas at the beginning of the game.

It has been getting consistent updates and the community thinks it is much better now than when it was released. I am loving the game so far.
