A Stroll along Keppel Bay to admire the Reflection's architectural marvel

Last Saturday, I finally decided to visit Keppel Bay after being inspired by a post from @opticus showcasing the stunning Reflections at Keppel Bay.

I've always considered the Reflections an architectural marvel, so I’ve been wanting to check it out for a while. But I kept putting it off because it's a bit of a trek from where I live, and the weather lately has been all over the place. Even though I’ve been to the Harborfront area and visited Sentosa a bunch of times, I never quite had the motivation to visit the Reflections. But last Saturday, I changed my mind. I started my journey from Harborfront, heading towards Keppel Bay, determined to see the Reflections in person and snap some photos finally.

The Reflections sit right next to Keppel Bay, and there are several ways to get there.

I chose to take the Keppel Bay Drive. There's no public transport on that route, so I figured I'd walk—it’s less than a 10-minute stroll, so no big deal. Plus, I thought of it as a little exercise. The weather was kind of gray, which kept things cool, making the walk pretty pleasant. All I was hoping for was that it wouldn’t start raining.

When I reached the end of Keppel Bay Drive, I spotted the Keppel Bay Bridge, which leads to Keppel Island. I made a mental note to come back and explore that area, but for now, my focus was on the Reflections.

Sentosa Island

To my left, I could see Sentosa Island and its theme parks, and to my right, the Reflections stood tall and majestic.

I decided to stroll along the Reflections Promenade to get a closer look. As I walked, it started to drizzle, so I quickly snapped the photos I needed before the rain picked up.

Besides the futuristic design of the Reflections, another thing that caught my eye was the line of luxurious yachts docked at Keppel Bay.

It made me wonder—how much does it cost to own one of these beauties? And what does it take to maintain them? I mean, owning a car in the city is already pricey, so I can only imagine what it costs to have a yacht parked here. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s at least $7 to $10 million, depending on the size.

If you’re curious about this lifestyle, these yachts are actually available for rent. According to the yacht club’s website, renting one costs around $500 to $800 for just five hours! That's pretty steep, right? But hey, if you’re up for a splurge, it might be worth it, lol.

After admiring the yachts, I continued walking until I reached the gate of the Reflections. Standing there, taking in the sheer size of the building, I was blown away. The number of windows alone was staggering, and the scale of the structure from where I stood was just massive.

Against the gray sky, the building looked even more beautiful, its design and form really standing out. I couldn’t help but wonder what the designers were thinking when they dreamed this up.

The building almost looks like the claws of some gigantic creature rising out of the bay. It’s truly amazing!

Nice place, but there’s no bench to stay and sit on? Is it really just a path for walking through?

Sadly, there are benches to sit on. Just a walkway 😢 on the other side of the bay there is a restaurant and a place to rest.

Will check it out next time
