Nature really knows how to make you fall in love. A few weeks ago I was recommended to go to enjoy a sunset in Cala Comte, but for one reason or another I had not been able to go.

Just a few days ago, a friend of mine offered his car to go and watch the sunset there with another friend, and I was totally impressed.

As you will see, Ibiza is full of coves, most of them are very small, so they are usually full of people, especially at sunset.

I have already told you about San Antonio as the best place to enjoy this time of the day, but of course that is a city, and these small coves that are close to that place, offer a certain magic to get away from the noise of the city and connect with nature.

Tambores en un atardecer de absoluto contacto con la energía del Sol en Cala Comte

La naturaleza sí que sabe enamorar. Hace unas semanas me recomendaron ir a disfrutar de un atardecer en Cala Comte, pero por uno u otro motivo al final no había logrado ir.

Tan solo unos días atrás, un amigo ofreció su auto para ir a ver el atardecer allí con otra amiga, y quedé totalmente impresionada.

Como irán viendo, Ibiza está repleta de calas, la mayoría de ellas son bien pequeñas, por lo que suelen llenarse de gente, en especial a la hora del atardecer.

Ya les he hablado de San Antonio como el mejor lugar para disfrutar de este momento del día, pero claro que eso es una ciudad, y estas pequeñas calas que están cerca de aquel sitio, ofrecen cierta magia al alejarse del ruido de la urbe y al conectar con la naturaleza.

Cala Comte has a bar, which is also called "Chiringuito". From my point of view, judging by the clothes of the people at sunset, I would see it as a restaurant with all its letters, but I think it is simply a chameleon-like place, which adapts to the time of day and the style of the people.

The point is that when we arrived, it looked like a humble little bar on the side of the cove.

The light brown sand had decorated the rocks that in a semicircular shape gave shelter to the sea and in the center stood the lifeguard's stand, already abandoned by this professional.

At different distances you could see islets, as if splashed in the water, of different shapes and sizes.

Cala Comte cuenta con un bar, al que también le dicen “Chiringuito”. Desde mi punto de vista, a juzgar por la vestimenta de la gente al caer el atardecer, yo lo vería como un restaurante con todas sus letras, pero creo que sencillamente es un lugar camaleónico, que se adapta al momento del día y al estilo de la gente.

La cuestión es que cuando llegamos, parecía un humilde barcito a un costado de la cala.

La arena marrón claro había decorado las rocas que en forma semicircular daban cobijo al mar y en el centro se alzaba el puesto del socorrista, ya abandonado por este profesional.

A diferentes distancias se veían islotes, como salpicados en el agua, de diferentes formas y tamaños.

While my friends stood off to the side waiting for the sunset, I decided that I wanted to feel the water in that place, so I walked down some stairs, bathed in the soft but deep sunlight, which was beginning to say goodbye.

I touched the water and lost myself for a few seconds in the confluence of two opposing currents that caressed each other steadily as the tide slowly rose.

To one side, the bold swell was seeking to rise towards what man had built for his race, a sort of platform that invited you to sit there. Well, these waves ignored such an absurd limit.

I returned with my friends to join them in this farewell to the sun, and when I was in full meditation in that sunset, some gentle drumming began to be heard.

A musician was making a tribute to the sun, while people began to move to the rhythm of the drum.

A group energy embraced that instant, and we all watched with respect and praise until the last moment when the orange sphere decided to say goodbye behind the horizon line.

We all applauded, as if God had given us this show, which is what was really happening.

Regresé con mis amigos para unirme a ellos en esta despedida del sol, y cuando estaba en plena meditación en aquel ocaso, unos amables tambores empezaron a escucharse.

Un músico estaba haciendo un homenaje al sol, mientras la gente se empezaba a mover al ritmo del tambor.

Una energía grupal abrazó aquel instante, y todos miramos con respeto y alabanza hasta el ultimo instante en que la esfera anaranjada decidía despedirse detrás de la línea del horizonte.

Aplaudimos todos, como si Dios nos hubiese regalado este show, que en verdad es lo que estaba pasando.

Although we were in flip-flops and bathed in sand, we didn't mind and went to order a beer. There, we listened for a moment to the music, which from African dyes, gradually became dominated by a powerful electronic music, at which point we left.

Después de tener aquel momento profundo y meditativo, decidimos ir a tomar algo al chiringuito, que ya empezaba a vestirse de una fiesta algo sofisticada.

Aunque estábamos en ojotas y bañados de arena, no nos importó y nos fuimos a pedir una cerveza. Allí, escuchamos un momento la música, que de tintes africanos, pasaba poco a poco a estar dominada por una potente electrónica, momento en el que nos fuimos.

Cala Comte is the place that has offered me the most magical sunset I have ever seen in Ibiza.

Cala Comte hasta este momento, es el lugar que me ha ofrecido el atardecer más mágico que he visto en Ibiza.
