Tempeh Sticks with Oat Topping
Crunchy snacks in a new way at home definitely make my mom curious, she always asks what this is and if it's delicious. It is undeniable that oats have a lot of uses and any preparation from it is very delicious. Including processed tempeh which is one inj fried crispy from oat dressing makes it have a very unique taste and can even be accepted by the tongue easily.
Oat Tempeh Sticks
Oat tempeh sticks are tempeh that is fried with elongated pieces like sticks then mixed with oats in the final layer. Well of course by adding flavorings in the form of seasonings that will make tempeh more delicious than usual. At first I thought this dish was ordinary because the ingredients were so simple, but after I made it how surprised I was that tempeh oats had a flavor that would make you come back to make it later!
Well instead of making you curious, here I will invite you to listen to the easy recipe!.
Ingredients
5 tablespoons of wheat flour
100 gram oats
½ teaspoon salt
Water to taste
½ teaspoon ground pepper
1 teaspoon mushroom broth
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Making Procedure
Take one medium sized piece of tempeh, then cut it into thin strips or you can cut it into small strips according to your taste.
After everything is cut, let the tempeh marinate with salt for about 5 minutes.
While waiting for the tempeh in marination, I prepare the dipping dough, add flour in a larger container.
Then add all the spices, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Also add cornstarch and add water little by little while stirring.
Let the mixture thicken and then dip the tempeh pieces in the mixture, if you want it to soak more, leave it for a while in the flour mixture.
Then add in the oat mixture until the tempeh is fully covered with oat.
After everything is ready to be coated with oats, fry the tempeh in hot oil until brownish yellow.
Result
Serve in a serving plate with sauce or you can enjoy it directly. Well this oat fried tempeh you can enjoy directly, or if in my area tempeh becomes a side dish that can be enjoyed with warm white rice. Well this vegetable product in the form of tempeh is indeed very authentic, I love to process anything with it, if you visit my blog you will find a lot of recipes about it. Well this time tempeh is also one of the preparations that I really like in the form of fried fi with oats. New to me but the result is very delicious beyond my expectations.
Crispy and savory outside on the oat layer, well still on the inside tempeh has a soft texture and of course very tasty. Now if you want tempeh with a crunchy outside and inside layer thoroughly, let the tempeh pieces be thin. So that you get the texture you want.
