Are you tired of all those books that seem to be written in the same style? Well, here is a different one - one of those books that you can either love or hate.

I was happy to discover Raymond Carver because somehow somewhere I noticed that his writing is considered to have a minimalist style. So, I was very curious about it.

For me it was a great match. I have never seen such a style that would transmit a lot without too many ribbons on top of it. So, yes...I was mesmerized.

''What We Talk About When We Talk About Love'' covers short stories with interesting topics regarding human relationships. However, the book doesn't impress with its stories as much as it does with its style. The mix is just the perfect recipe to keep you connected to the stories.

For instance, here is an excerpt from the book:

''I'll tell you what real love is,"Mel said." I mean,I'll give you a good
example. And then you can draw your own conclusions." He poured
more gin into his glass. He added a nice cube and a sliver of lime. We
waited and sipped our drinks. Laura and I touched knees again. I put a
hand on her warm thigh and left it there.

So, why not give Raymond Carver a try and even get some inspiration from his stylish stories?

Is the entire book written without spaces between words, as per the excerpt you've given us? (Or is it a copy/paste edit thing? Golly, that would be a stressful read if it was!

I have updated the text. In my preview it looked good but I don't know what happened. Otherwise, it would be stressful indeed. Thank You for noticing that.

I don’t remember much of this story, but I read it some years ago. It was in an anthology with other fantastic stories.
