📚 Book Review: Carmen Salas, The fear hunter [ES/EN]

Hoy me pasó por acá para traerles la reseña acerca de un libro infantil que es ideal para leerle a los niños cuando tienen pesadillas, pero que también deja una enseñanza para todos. Les estoy hablando de Carmen Salas, La cazadora de miedos de la autora Cynthia Lorena Surace.

Hello fellow readers! Today I stopped by to bring you a review of a children's book that is ideal to read to children when they have nightmares, but that also leaves a lesson for everyone. I'm talking about Carmen Salas, La cazadora de miedos by author Cynthia Lorena Surace.

Carmen es una niña de 12 años que vive de aventura en aventura, pero en sus sueños. Sus padres son antropólogos y les gusta estudiar las culturas de diferentes tribus y en un viaje que hicieron una vez donde la llevaron con ellos, aprendió el secreto para luchar contra sus pesadillas y ayudar a otros niños a hacer lo mismo. Pero a medida que crece, los miedos con los que se tiene que enfrentar son cada vez más complicados y llegando a la adolescencia va a tener que hacerle frente a un miedo que nos suele paralizar a todos sin distinción de edad, el miedo al fracaso.

Carmen is a 12 year old girl who lives from adventure to adventure, but in her dreams. Her parents are anthropologists and like to study the cultures of different tribes and on a trip they once took her with them, she learned the secret to fighting her nightmares and helping other children to do the same. But as she grows up, the fears she has to face become more and more complicated and as she reaches adolescence she will have to face a fear that usually paralyzes all of us regardless of age, the fear of failure.

Este es un libro que me hubiera encantado leer cuando era una niña y solía tener pesadillas recurrentes acerca del fondo del océano, tiburones y zombies, pero bueno, también sirve leerlo a esta altura porque es bastante reflexivo. Sería ideal leérselos a los pequeños, pero un adulto lo puede disfrutar de igual manera y yo soy la prueba de ello.

This is a book I would have loved to read when I was a child and used to have recurring nightmares about the bottom of the ocean, sharks and zombies, but well, it's also good to read at this point because it's quite thoughtful. It would be ideal to read it to little ones, but an adult can enjoy it just as much and I am proof of that.

Carmen me pareció una muy buena protagonista, tiene cierto encantó y empatía, es muy fácil encariñarse con ella. También me encantó la unión que tiene con su familia, transmiten un gran amor entre ellos. Así que es un libro familiero. Me resultó muy entretenida su manera de enfrentarse a las pesadillas y cómo ayudaba a los otros niños, este mundo tiene sus propias reglas, así que puede haber algo de magia entre medio. Aunque en el mundo de los sueños todo es posible.

Carmen seemed to me a very good protagonist, she has a certain charm and empathy, it is very easy to get attached to her. I also loved the union she has with her family, they transmit a great love between them. So it is a family book. I found her way of dealing with nightmares and how she helped the other children very entertaining, this world has its own rules, so there may be some magic in between. Although in the dream world anything is possible.

Me encantó el mensaje que inspira esta historia de enfrentar nuestros miedos, sino nos van a perseguir toda la vida. Nos demuestra que es bueno contar con apoyo y tener la confianza para lograrlo. Además, nos da las herramientas para ello de una manera divertida y amena de leer.

I loved the message that this story inspires to face our fears, otherwise they will haunt us for the rest of our lives. It shows us that it is good to have support and the confidence to achieve it. It also gives us the tools to do so in a fun and enjoyable way to read.

La verdad es que disfruté mucho esta lectura e incluso se las ingenio para hacerme emocionar un poco hacía el final con algo que estaba pasando en la trama y tenía muy preocupada a Carmen. Es un libro que recomiendo mucho sin importar la edad que tengan.

The truth is that I really enjoyed reading this book and it even managed to make me a little emotional towards the end with something that was happening in the plot and had Carmen very worried. It is a book that I highly recommend no matter what age you are.
