Happy 2023 to all reading lovers friends who make life in this community, which reminds us how beneficial and nutritious reading is, since the end of last year I was very eager to come back here, but between work and then the Christmas holidays everything was complicated, but the community has come up with a very attractive way to encourage us to start the year and at the same time to challenge us a contest.

Now for my entry I chose the option What are the books you want to read in 2023?

This option has been perfect for me because it has forced me to place the books I have in mind for this year and even decide in what presumably order I will do it, Here I present the books:

I intend to start with "La Casa Natal del Libertador", this book like many of the ones I want to finish this year I have had it for a long time, but it was buried under a lot of books and that made it go unnoticed, I remembered its existence after a visit I made at the end of last year to this Casa Natal and seeing its current state I decided to look for the book to look for previous photos and buy them with the ones I took, now, this book goes beyond a mere tour of the house, it talks about the history of the house and the Bolivar family, so I hope to discover some interesting things after reading it, the author of the book is Vicente Lecuna.

Another book that I want to restart and finish is one whose title is "4 Crimes 4 Powers", authored by Fermín Mármol León, this novel based on real facts narrates four criminal cases in which it was not possible to convict the guilty given their relationships with the power, so you have an idea of the powers involved in the cases are the ecclesiastical, political, military, and economic. This book is considered a bestseller of black literature in Venezuela.

The third book I will mention is entitled "The Open Veins of Latin America" by the Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano, this book that I also started to read is a little more dense, in my opinion, because it is basically an opinion on the history of Latin America that goes from colonization to contemporary Latin America, this opinion is argued in chronicles and narratives of the constant plundering of the natural resources of the region by the colonial empires of the time and the exploitation, slavery and marginalization of the original inhabitants.

In fourth place, we have a book of historical type named "Chacachacare" its author Mario Javier Pacheco, this if I have not read it before, but it narrates the facts and events of a heroic deed, occurred in Venezuela in the year 1813, there are many battles and facts that are left aside by events that occurred in parallel or are considered more important and this reading can give me to know something interesting at the historical level.

Finally, a novel called "Ocurrió en Catia" by the author Cándido Pérez, I have no idea what it is about, only that it is based in the 60's and 70's, maybe in real events lived by the author.

Feliz 2023 para todos los amigos amantes de la lectura que hacen vida en esta comunidad, que nos recuerda lo beneficioso y nutritivo de la lectura, desde finales del año pasado estaba muy pendiente de volver por acá, pero entre trabajo y luego las fiestas decembrinas todo se complicó, pero la comunidad se ha ingeniado una manera muy atractiva de animarnos a comenzar el año y al mismo tiempo de retarnos un concurso.

Ahora para mi participación he elegido la opción ¿Cuáles son los libros que quieres leer en 2023?

Esta opción me ha venido como anillo al dedo porque me ha obligado de ubicar los libros que tengo en mente para este año y así hasta decidir en qué presunto orden lo haré, Aquí les presento los libros:

Pretendo comenzar con el de ”La casa Natal del Libertador”, este libro al igual que muchos de los que deseo terminar este año lo tengo hace mucho, pero estaba sepultado de bajo de un montón de libros y eso lo hacía pasar desapercibido, recuerde su existencia tras una visita que realice a finales el año pasado a esta Casa Natal y al ver su estado actual decidí buscar el libro para buscar fotos anteriores y comprarlas con las que yo tome, ahora bien, este libro va más allá de un mero recorrido por la casa habla de la historia de la casa y de la familia Bolívar, así que espero descubrir algunas cosas interesantes tras su lectura, el autor del libro es Vicente Lecuna.

Otro de los libros que deseo recomenzar y terminar es uno cuyo título es “4 Crímenes 4 Poderes”, de la autoría de Fermín Mármol León, esta novela basada en hechos reales narra cuatro casos criminales en los que no fue posible condenar a los culpables dadas sus relaciones con el poder, para que tengan una idea de los poderes involucrados en los casos son el eclesiástico, político, militar, y económico. Este libro está considerado bestseller de la literatura negra en Venezuela.

El tercer libro que mencionaré se titula “Las Venas Abiertas de América Latina” del escritor uruguayo Eduardo Galeano, ese libro que también comencé a leer es un poco más denso, en mi opinión, pues básicamente es una opinión sobre la historia de América Latina que va desde la colonización hasta la América Latina contemporánea, esta opinión está argumentada en crónicas y narraciones del constante saqueo de los recursos naturales de la región por parte de los imperios coloniales del momento y de la explotación, esclavitud y marginación de los habitantes originarios.

En cuarto lugar, tenemos un libro de tipo histórico de nombre “Chacachacare” su autor Mario Javier Pacheco, este si no lo he leído antes, pero narra los hechos y acontecimientos de una gesta considerada heroica, ocurrida en Venezuela en el año 1813, existen muchas batallas y hechos que son dejados de lado por eventos que ocurrieron de modo paralelo o son considerados más importantes y esta lectura puede darme a conocer algo interesante a nivel histórico.

Por último, una novela de nombre “Ocurrió en Catia” del autor Cándido Pérez, de esta no tengo la menor idea de que trata solo que está basado en los años 60 y 70, tal vez en hechos reales vividos por el autor.
