Ghana My Mother Land
I am kinda disappointed with myself for not discovering this contest earlier. Nevertheless, I'm still excited about the fact that my entry is still early enough to be valid, better late than not classic.
This also happens to be my first post in this city, it's only right that my first post here is about my great motherland Ghana.
Whithout further noise, let's get down with the contest questions
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE THINGS YOU ARE PROUD OF YOUR COUNTRY?
Culture: If you prefer to drag road with me, this may take you awhile to digest, but if your head is correct and you’re thinking straight, the fact that Ghana has the most beautiful and diverse culture will be something that can go down well in your throat.
When I say culture, all I mean is our way of life, which includes our food, languages, festivals, costumes, and everything that distinguishes us from the rest of the world.
Whether you’re living in Africa or not, even if you don’t have constant electricity in your big country, one way or the other, you must have heard about the fantastic cultural diversity in Ghana.
Our way of life here is something to be proud of. Human beings live like human beings in Ghana. Everyday when school children stop to greet me on their way home, when I get to the house and bend down to greet my parents, all these little acts remind me of how morally wealthy we are as Ghanaians. Especially when I think of the fact that there’s a big man in Emerica living in a big apartment with thousands flatmates who don’t even have a second to say good morning to him. It reminds me of how we as Ghanians are close to being humans than some people elsewhere.
Let it not be like I want to boast, but even if I single out food as the only cultural thing to write about, there’s no food anywhere in the world that I’m more proud of than our local Ghanaian delicacies. I cannot imagine myself living anywhere in the world where I can’t eat Ghana Jallof rice. Even if you’ve at least seen the Ghanaian jallof once, you’ll know what I’m saying.
Peace And Security
I’m today’s Ghana, it will take the western media a lot of effort to spit rubbish about conflicts and war crises in Ghana.
Despite our economic hardships and instability, Ghana is still one of the most peaceful countries in the world. Peace and security is a major priority in every country and the fact that Ghana has these two is something I’m very proud of. Even though our security systems are not the best, Ghana is still very peaceful with a conducive environment for investments.
Everyone is allowed to invest and own properties as far as they meet legal requirements. Unlike in some countries where a young boy can not show is iPhone in public without being harassed by the police. (Sorry oo).
If I want to write about everything about my country that I’m proud of, it’ll take me till infinity.
DO YOU THINKYOUR COUNTRY HAS ALL IT TAKES TO HELP YOU DEVELOP AS A PERSON?
Certainly yes! Who can count the number of successful entrepreneurs and tech geeks here who were born and bred here and have managed to get get the life they want for themselves. Ghana has everything and even more.
As far as there’s peace, security, and the internet, anyone can achieve anything here.
The economic hardships here is even a catalyst to get you on your goals. All it takes is some genuine grit and resilience.
If you think Ghana doesn’t have all that it takes to help you develop, think of the UK where after struggling to get yourself a house, you’ll have to pay a mountain to bills to sustain it and after everything, you don’t own the house, the queen does (or is it a prince now, sorry a king)
In Ghana, land is cheap and fertile (you can build, you can farm), dig yourself a borehole and you’ll get free water that can last a generation, there’s sun to power your solar. It’s heaven here!
IF YOU COULD LEAVE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY, WOULD YOU?
Why would I consider leaving Ghana? Maybe for better working conditions. As far as I’m able to work and earn, it doesn’t matter where I live. I have big goals of becoming an unapologetic nomad.
I will visit many many countries. I want to see the beautiful sunrise and sunset in Nigeria 🇳🇬 , Kenya 🇰🇪, Uganda 🇺🇬, Botswana 🇧🇼, Namibia 🇳🇦, South Africa🇿🇦, Morocco 🇲🇦, Egypt 🇪🇬, Benin 🇧🇯, India 🇮🇳. I want to watch a merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton in Anfield. I want to see Rihana perform in California.
But after everything, I’ll come back to Ghana. There’s so much in Ghana that i would love to come back to.
Thanks you so much for your time. I hope you enjoyed reading. You can also share your views on the contest Using the Neoxian City front end

It’s our motherland. We’re proud Ghanaians. We have to proud about Ghana. Always
It is nice to read about the things that make you prpoud of your country. having a peaceful and relatively secure country is something that many others strive for. It is great that your country has achieved it and that you think it is heaven. That is lovely - also that if you leave it is only to visit as you will return.
