Love was what I gave

Summer isn't always free for me, but last summer I decided to give myself a break and enjoy my love life with my fiancee, who is always as busy as I am, but we decided to create time to enjoy our time together and share our genuine emotions for each other. Keeping in touch with each other becomes impossible because of our tight schedules, but good communication keeps us together at heart, and it keeps the emotions growing deeper than I expected.

It all started on our way to the location we chose for our few days of relaxation; it was a luxurious hotel on the outskirts of the town. After an hour's drive, we finally got there, and after a few minutes of relaxation in a well-furnished suite with a powerful air conditioner hanging on the wall, which almost made me fall asleep, we decided to order food to eat. On the table placed in the room, a menu list was placed on it for customers to choose any of their choices. With so much love in my eyes towards my fiancee, who was staring at me romantically as I was going through the menu list, our eyes met and we both busted into laughter. I jumped on him and gave him several pecks on his cheeks, then we ordered two plates of fried rice with a plate full of crockery fish and a chilled red wine to go with it. You can call me a foodie; I agreed because I love to eat and I appreciate good food when I see it.

It was more or less a honeymoon; the environment is cool and serene for lovers' time out. After eating, we decided to stroll around the big hotel holding hands. Attention was shifted to us by people around, and I can hear some murmuring "They are a new couple". We looked at each other's faces and smiled. After a while, we returned to our hotel room, not knowing a surprise was waiting for us. I guess he had it all planned out when he booked the hotel room. The room was beautifully decorated with flowers; the lighting had been changed; a good fragrance was oozing out of the hanging air freshener; and he held my hand and recited a loving poem he had written. With tears in my eyes, I jumped and hugged him so tightly; it was one of the best days of my life. After the loving moment, we danced to one of the popular love songs by Celine Dion titled "You are my strength".

After the great dance, we sat on the sofa in each other's arms, ruminating on our past experiences and how fate brought us together. Then I remembered I came with one of Nora Roberts's early novels titled "romantic suspense", We read a few pages together before we decided to rest for the day. It was a three-day break, and the following day, another fun-filled experience took place until the last day when we were to return to our home. It was such a lovely experience that I won't be forgetting it in a jiffy. All I gave was love, and that's what I received in return.
