Modern Tactics: My favorite summoner to counter an Earthquake Rule set

I have been playing Splinterlands for 7 years! I played Splinterlands every day for seven years and sometimes I spend more than 10 hours playing this game, the least is probably 2 hours on a busy day, which means I have played this game more than any other games in my life... It is addictive because it is a play2earn game but not just that because we have so many other p2e games, I love the competitions and the gist with friends too about how we defeat each other and talk about it on Discord... It is pleasing to the heart to torment Xawi especially lol.

My favorite deck when I started used to be Water Splinter and this is because I was playing at a lower league but after I got the hang of the game and was able to compete with top players, my favorite deck changed to Earth and Dragon Splinter and till today, that did not change.

Favorite deck does not give you the win though, Studying the rules and the best splinter to counter what the opponent might probably use is a necessity and now that we have more cards edition, choices are unlimited, and one needs to think well before coming up with a team in order not to shame himself on the battlefield... but still losing is inevitable and we learn from those loses to become better.

Today I would share my go-to tactics in an Earthquake rule set.

Note: This is only for modern battles not wild.

What do you think is the best summoner to use in Earthquake rule?

Is it Risqruel Drath with the Flying stat or Eternal tofu with the Snare stats.

Drath can protect all your monsters by giving them the flying ability but Tofu can easily take away that flying from them with the Snare ability which makes it a better summoner in such a ruleset...

I can use Tofu to summon monsters with flying ability and they will be safe from Drath's wrath but can't say the same for monsters that Drath summoned because once they lose that fly, they are never getting it back which defeats the purpose of using the summoner.

In my opinion, Eternal Tofu is the best summoner for earthquake rule in modern battles, and here is a battle below.

All the splinters were available except dragon, but the main thing I want you to notice is both Drath and Tofu summoners were available but the opponent and I used tofu which supports my motion above that Tofu is the best summoner when it comes to earthquake rule set in modern... If Tofu is not available, that is when Drath can be an option.

It was a battle of 31-mana cap and we were given 3 rules, the other two rules were no magic monsters can be used and all monsters have a divine shield.

The rules keep me relaxed a bit knowing I do not need to defend against magic monsters, only melee and range monsters are threats and that was the formation I came up with above, I had my reason for using certain monsters which will be explained below.

Grimbardun Smith

)

There was no monster suitable to hold the tank position better than Smith in this battle, it has shield and armor repair so it would be safe from the earthquake rule as it will only touch its armor, I also have it the scavenger and triage abilities from Tofu, if there is any monster that can last long enough till the end, It is Smith and it didn't disappoint but it can't do it alone and this is where the other monsters have a part to play.

Runi

I Placed this monster in the second position to protect the rear of any blast just in case the opponent uses Mantaroth as a tank, aside from this, Runi does not get affected by the thorn cos of its reflection shield so it helped me to terminate most of the opponent monsters.

Stitch Leech & Venari Crystalsmith

I did not know how long leech would last if the opponent used tofu but I knew it would wreak havoc before it died and it didn't disappoint, it did not die in the battle as Smith kept recharging it, a healer was needed to support Smith and that is where Venari becomes useful.

Acid Shooter & Karst Harpy

These 2 monsters are blessed with the scattershot ability so they can spread their attacks, unfortunately, Harpy was the first to die because it was targeted by the opponent acid shooter and got poisoned in the process but it did some damage too before it died.

Summary of the battle: The Eternal Tofu summoner, a strong tank like Grimbardun Smith, Runi that can attack and not get affected by Thorn, a healer to replenish Smith's health made it possible to win the battle, the opponent formation was not bad too but he didn't use smith.

Smart use of Grimbardun Smith as tank and Runi for blast protection! Solid strategy with healing support and scattershot attackers Nice gameplay.

Thinking of favourable assets and having them workout is the best part of splinterlands.
I think you made most of the Ruleset and some of the opponent's cards didn't live up to their expectations, but it was a close game to an extent

you are right, the opponent thinks too much lol and end up coming with weird line up, i see no reason why he used pelacor conjurer, his reason is cos it is a flying monster tho but he should know better that i might come with tofu with the snare ability since he use it too

What’s a rule set in Splinterlands?
A particular rule to follow or what?
