Love Is Kind
Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome 🤗
Love is a beautiful thing, and I strongly believe in this.
I am yet to understand why people feel or think love has to be hard or it must come with so much pain.
I understand that in any kind of relationship, be it intimate or platonic, there are usually misunderstandings, and that's because we are imperfect humans, but that doesn't mean you should suffer in that kind of relationship.
I have had my own fair share of hurt and tough love; I have been in situations where I felt like the greatest mistake I ever made was being in love. But trust me, I have also experienced true and genuine love. I have been loved in ways I cannot begin to describe.
I don't believe love should be painful and hard. If anyone happens to find themselves in such a kind of relationship, I think the best thing to do is to walk away. You only stay with a person that keeps causing you pain when you don't love yourself, and you also don't know your self-worth and value.
I once had a roommate in my three hundred level at the university who was in a toxic relationship but thought she was in paradise. Her boyfriend then used to cheat on her, and she had caught him several times; he abused her verbally and had also slapped her once. The whole thing didn't make sense to me.
So one day I and my friend decided to confront her; we wanted to know why she still remained in such a relationship even with everything she was going through, and her reply shocked us. She said that's how love is, that love comes with pain.
And somewhere in my mind I was like, so love means you should be in pain and be crying always.
I don't know where she got that mindset from, but it's a very wrong mindset, and I have also heard and seen some girls that also think this way.
One thing I know about love is it's healthy and peaceful.
I understand when people say they are going through some difficult times in their relationships; I, too, have been there, so I can relate. But not all this unnecessary drama people are acting in relationships.
Any kind of love that causes you pain is no longer called love; the scripture told us what love is in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. It says
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
I can't find where it says love is painful, so anything outside this is not love.
