Here I share these images of some photos I have taken of this friendly creature.

Wishing you a good day, and I'm sure the little friend in the photos also wants the same.

A few days ago I heard some noises in my kitchen, they were sounds like kek!kek!kek! (a shame I can't incorporate the sound here, I would love for you to be able to hear it because it is very peculiar) and immediately I went to investigate what it was about, I turned on the light and I found this little friend.

Apparently he hunts at night, because that is when the insects are most active in the kitchen. He was probably looking for some spiders, moths or mosquitoes there.

TUQUEQUE1.jpg
House gecko 😀

This is a Hemidactylus mabouia popularly known as a "tropical house gecko", or as we call it here in this country "House gecko".

I sense that he was hunting because of the noises he made.

When I turned on the light, he froze, I guess from the surprise of seeing me. I immediately moved away so as not to scare him and ran to my room to look for the phone, in the hope of taking some photos of him before he felt scared and left.

I felt the immediate need to immortalize this amazing ninja in the form of photographs to share with you.

TUQUEQUE3.jpg
Hunting mode: ON

  • Reino : Animalia
  • Filo : Chordata
  • Clase : Sauropsida
  • Orden : Squamata
  • Suborden: Lacertilia
  • Familia : Gekkonidae
  • Genero : Hemidactylus
  • Especie : Hemidactylus mabouia

In my home it is very rare to see this creature, since I live in a building, and I can tell you that on rare occasions I have seen them prowling around my house, so I am very excited to be able to show it to you.

The little friend stayed motionless while I took the photo, amazingly he didn't get scared for about 30 seconds when I brought the phone about 30 centimeters away. You can see that he even seemed to pose for me to take his photographs.

I managed to capture only 4 photos of this young man that captured all the majesty of him.

When he retired, he did so with impressive speed and silently (like all good ninjas), leaving me wanting to know more about him.

The taxonomy of this creature according to this article from Wikipedia is as follows:

  • Kingdom: Animalia
  • Edge: Chordata
  • Class: Sauropsida
  • Order: Squamata
  • Suborder: Lacertilia
  • Family: Gekkonidae
  • Genus: Hemidactylus
  • Species: Hemidactylus mabouia

Incredible ninja

When I think about these creatures I can't help but associate them with ninjas that climb walls and climb to great heights, because in my case, I live on the 13th floor and I wonder how this small being could have gotten here to visit me and satisfy their basic feeding needs.

This is pure survival instinct, which without a doubt confirms to me once again that nature is amazing.

I hope you liked these photos. Thank you very much for your time. I wish love and peace in your lives for each of you 💞☮️🤗.

I loved your post! The photo does not help you with such excellent content, you are an example of a good post, it is evident that you used the Wikipedia reference to support what you say! Do you know that there are urban myths that these animals make women fall in love? LOL, crazy, right? I think that these things make people kill them unfairly, but they are great pest controllers. They eat spiders that are dangerous for us and bugs. YOUR POST IS PARTICIPATING FOR THE WEEKLY PRIZE. By the way, who is the cat?

Hey thankyou, such a nice commentary @biologistbrito i really apreciate it! 💓

Yes, my phone's camera didn't help me, however I didn't want to miss this curious little friend, who is so amazing.

Wow, I didn't know that myth, but how interesting! (could it be true?) LOL.

People kill them, and it turns out that these are amazing, and even friendly, creatures! This gecko is still in my home, I have already seen him several nights and I would like to know what I can do to help him!

Yes, I know it eats spiders and small cockroaches too (ideal for kitchens hahaha).

Hey thanks, I didn't know anything about a prize.

The black cat is my late pet, he died years ago, his name is "Manclar", and about 6 years ago I decided to create this account to honor him by naming it after him. Of course, it is clear that I am a cat lover =D

And I didn't know about this community until recently, when I was looking for the right place to post about the Hemidactylus. The truth is, I'm very happy to find it and I'm sure when I take some other photos I'll share them.

For me it is a great pleasure to be here, I will invite a great friend to participate, he is a scientist and lover of these things.

Regarding my cat, don't worry, he is still more alive than ever, now he is immortalized in the blockchain with this account, with which I will continue to make him grow and create content, because I love that you know him. I thank you for asking me about him, this revives the flame and makes me very happy 💜

@bulkathos I invite you to join this community and share your knowledge about animals, brother.

¡kek!

Ando averiguando como puedo ayudarlo!.

Gecko was hunting, I don't see any major intention there.

What you do have to be careful, because this guy eats spiders, so I recommend caution... (a little, tiny, this size or less 😃)

Hello hello

I am delighted to tell you that I have several at home and extremely large - I also live in a building - it seems that I have hatchlings there as they are the guests for several years, the truth is that I love them.
A few years ago I left a container with oil without a lid in the kitchen and they were mating at night and fell both in the emptying, what a shame, since then I try not to leave anything there that could be a danger to them.

They love to go out and hunt their insects on very hot nights, and they keep my house clean of spiders, cockroaches and any other insect of their liking.

I always thought they looked like geckos, but I didn't know they were...I love taking pictures of them but they are very restless and run off very fast, and they do make that strange noise and I think they do it with their tails.....

My pet Chloe, the Chihuahua, every time she sees them, she barks and barks at them, and they completely ignore her but they still watch her...that always makes me laugh....

I love my half transparent and huge geckos...they certainly know how to take care of themselves very well, just avoid accidents inside the house, they tend to run around a lot and fall anywhere.

Ok...just look at this one lives behind some dishes on the shelf, the others are more nocturnal, but I also know where they live....
This one I didn't want to scare, maybe that's why I can't see it well.

Ohh they are fabulous! And they are quite big! How long have they been living in your home? There are only 2 of them or is just 1?. Do they make sounds?

My friend @bulkathos told me that he is a biologist, that they make that kek kek noise because it is a call to their partner.

Have you given them names?

Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos!

Actually, the photos correspond to only one, this is not the largest one.
I think I have a couple of specimens living at home for more than 5 years, and it seems that they have had a family because I have seen smaller ones.

And as your friend says, I have seen that they make the noise to attract females.

I have also seen them on the stairs outside...they go in and out of the apartments...they even take advantage of the electrical outlets to do so.

Anyway, I'm going to gather material to document them... hahaha... I don't know how I didn't think of that...

Thanks for the exchange

Impressive, they show that they are very intelligent when there is no light, but my friend told me that they have nocturnal habits.

It's great that you are taking photographs, and you can publish them here in this community, the truth is these are very unique creatures.

The administrator told me that there is an urban myth that says that "that these animals make women fall in love?" curious, right?

Delighted with your contribution, thank you very much!

A mi me encantan.
