Before we get into the step by step of this illustration, I'll tell you about my teaching adventure !
Talking with a guy from a far away place @zana , who I met on the Rarible discord server, after chatting for a while, about illustration, techniques, he asked me from my point of view if his illustrations were at an adequate level for certain prices. we came to the conclusion that he needed to improve some things, and then reach a creative/artistic level in which he was comfortable, so I decided, to give him a creative challenge !

Antes de adentrarnos en el paso a paso de esta ilustración, les contaré mi aventura enseñando !
Hablando con un chico de un lugar muy lejano @zana , el cual conoci en el servidor de discord de Rarible, despues de charlar un buen rato, sobre ilustracion, tecnicas, me preguntó desde mi punto de vista si sus ilustraciones estaban a un nivel adecuado para ciertos precios. llegamos a la conclusion de que necesitaba mejorar algunas cosas, y pues llegar a un nivel creativo/artistico en el cual estuviera a gusto, por lo que decidi, ponerle un reto creativo !

Zana, my friend on the other side of the world who I hope to soon give a warm welcome to the hive community, made his sketch, even though he had no pc at the time, this was the sketch:

obviously my friend Zana is better with digital art, and the sketch he did was a very basic one to place the elements in the positions where he wanted them.

My first class as a teacher and my dear first student

zana and I agreed on a time to start the class on my discord server.

the first lesson had already been given.

1. create your composition with reference images, from colors, shapes, forms, etc.

2. Use your ingenuity and imagination to create something new, based on the elements you previously chose. here I must make a small clarification. It is NOT OK to copy other artists' work.

you can take from their work references such as colors, the type of line used, poses, but without copying the drawing, you yourself must create what you imagine inspired by what surrounds you.

zana y yo acordamos una hora para comenzar la clase en mi servidor de discord.

la primera leccion ya la habia dado.
. crea tu compocision con imagenes de referencias, desde colores, figuras, formas, etc

. Utiliza tu ingenio e imaginacion para crear algo nuevo, en base a los elementos que elegiste previamente. aca debo hacer una pequeña aclaratoria. NO está bien calcar trabajos de otros artistas.

puedes tomar de sus trabajos referencias como colores, el tipo de linea que utiliza, poses, pero sin calcar el dibujo, tu mismo debes crear lo que imaginas inspirado en aquello que te rodea.

Abstract rock design, using the polygonal lasso tool, here apply contrasts of light and shadow.

adding the rock arch, and applying the play of light and shadow from where the light source comes from (the sun).

I added the huge eye, and gave it the metal texture, since it couldn't just be a couple of straight lines and that's it, it reflects the elements and colors around it.

the last step was to add the main character, sitting on the eye, at this point four hours had passed, and we were both exhausted, and my time was 1 am, but for Zana it was 6 am, we both needed to sleep, and we were happy with the result,

because of my choice of colors and textures, we no longer saw the need to add two demonic hands coming out of the ground.

el ultimo paso fue añadir el personaje principal, sentado sobre el ojo, a este punto ya habian transcurrido cuatro horas, y ambos estabamos exahustos, y mi hora marcaba las 1 de la mañana, pero para zana eran las 6 de la mañana, ambos necesitabamos dormir, y estabamos contentos con el resultado,

debido a mi eleccion de colores y texturas, ya no vimos necesario agregar dos manos demoniacas saliendo de la tierra
