Jack's Dilemma (My Newest Tokenized Digital Drawing) | A Fractal Rendering Project
Hello everyone and welcome back to another my fractal drawings. I utilize the program Apophysis 2.09 to create and design my fractals. My latest rendering created a strange image of a curved design. On first thought, I considered it a flower. Then I thought of a hat. In any event, I remember this image as one encased in box. When the tinkler is turned clockwise, the toy pops up quickly. To younger children, the toy is scary until they realize it won't hurt them.
How I created my "Jack's Dilemma" Fractal Digital Art:
I knew I wanted to design a fractal. A fractal is an infinite mathematical shape that is represented by coordinates. As I previously discussed, Apophysis 2.09 is a Windows application that is open sourced and utilized for rendering fractal flames. This program can also design and edit the drawing before rendering.
I started with a blank drawing grid provided by the program. The grid line contains an anchored WHITE-colored triangle. This triangle is embedded and unmovable.
1st Triangle:
The grid also contains the first triangle colored RED. It rests on top of the anchored triangle and can be maneuvered. I moved the X and Y coordinates to track the image progression. As you can see, nothing major happened.
When I first start a project, I try to work with just one triangle to see whether the variations I add will produce any distinguishable image. If not, then I add a second triangle.
So I added the following variations: linear (600858 ); and exponential (.399141).
Next, I moved the coordinates until an image appeared. I love this image, but wanted to keep going to see what else would appear. I can always return to it later if I decide to go in another direction.
The moment I saw the last image appear, I knew I was finished with this drawing. The curves of the top resembled a familiar toy I once had as a child.
Completing My Fractal:
All I needed was to combine several of the image in another program. But first, I needed one final step in the fractal creation process. Saving this digital drawing meant I needed to render the flames that were used to create the image.
Pulling it all together:
The last stage of my fractal drawing design needed the assistance of another program. I turned to Canva. Canva is a design program whereby with my Annual Pro Membership, I have numerous tools at my disposal, such as resizing, animation, background removal, and filters.
Here's my procedure.
- uploaded my fractal to Canva;
- duplicated the fractal into 8 pieces;
- arranged each piece horizontal or vertical;
- positioned them close together to create a jack-in-the-box head piece;
- change background color to black; and
finally - added my signature.
I feel my final version looks awesome.
Enhancer: DeepDreamGenerator
However, to enhance my fractal and add an even more wilder, ragged look, I took my drawing to Deep Dream Generator. I wanted to locate a filter that gave the appearance of the toy being well played with and used. I located the perfect style. One of the eyes of the jack-in-the-box appears larger. This gives an off-balance look.
Here are the parameters and style I used to create my deep dream image:
Type:
Deep Style 2
Settings:
Enhance: None
Resolution: 0.6MP
Iterations Boost: x1
Style Weight: 50%
Style Scale: 100%
Preserve Original Colors: No
Here is my final, enhanced version:
Tokenized art
I've uploaded the fractal to the NFT Showroom. It is for sale there in tokenized form, in my DIGITAL DRAWINGS / FRACTALS Collection, entitled "Jack's Dilemma".

I hope you like my Fractal Rendering digital art.
Very nice... I kind of like the red one, but the Jack-ness (if you will) is definitely stronger in the finished version!
Hello. I like the original one also. I have a story for Jack once was happy but who's been a naughty boy.
Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your comments.

Hello @hivebuzz. Thank you so much for stopping by and alerting me to my new power up badge for September. I appreciate it. My power up was small, but I loved to participate.
Take care.
I kind of liked it red on black too. Where did you get Apophysis 2.09? I may just give it a try for some Abstract Impressionist work.
NFTs, here I come?
Thanks for sharing @justclickindiva
Hello. Thanks for visiting. Happy to hear you liked my fractal. I downloaded the program from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/apophysis/files/apophysis/Apophysis%202.09/
Look forward to seeing your creations!
Take care.
Killer work hun! I'd totally cut that out and wear it as a mask for Halloween😁
I don't even want to imagine you with one massive eye like that. But it would definitely work as a Halloween accessory. Thank you so much for visiting and leaving a nice sentiment.
Appreciate your support as always.
