My name is Mubiru Emmanuel, widely known as Noelz, and I am a skateboarder from the vibrant yet challenging slums of Kitintale, Uganda. My journey into skateboarding began at the age of six, when I was instantly captivated by the sport.

Despite the hardships of growing up in a disadvantaged neighborhood, skateboarding became my passion, my escape, and ultimately, my path to self-discovery.

Over the years, my dedication and resilience have propelled me to become one of the most prominent skateboarders in my region. Through perseverance, I have claimed victories in several local skateboarding contests, and my journey has garnered international recognition. A defining moment in my career was being featured in Jamaican pop star Popcaan’s music video for Should Have Been Me. This opportunity not only showcased my skills to a global audience but also fueled my determination to keep pushing the boundaries of the sport.

In 2023, I reached a new milestone by placing third at the prestigious East Africa Skate Gala, solidifying my position as a leading figure in the East African skateboarding scene. That same year, I deepened my commitment to the sport by earning a coaching certification from the French Skate Federation. This accomplishment equipped me with the skills to teach and inspire others to embrace skateboarding.

Beyond competing, I have been deeply involved in the skateboarding community. As the media handler for the Uganda Skateboard Union, I helped promote the sport and elevate its profile in Uganda. Currently, I serve as the marketer for Climate Skaters Kiteezi, a unique initiative that merges skateboarding with environmental advocacy. Through this role, I champion climate awareness and sustainability, demonstrating how skateboarding can be a force for positive change.

Skateboarding has given me more than personal achievements—it has provided me with the means to uplift my community, advocate for environmental consciousness, and inspire others to chase their dreams, regardless of their circumstances. My mission is to continue sharing this passion while leaving a lasting impact on the world around me..
