Ruth My beloved friend was just so unselfish

Hardship and turbulent seasons defines true friendship, a good friend is always willing to face whatever life challenges that befalls his or her friend and i thought that i had such kind of friend in Ruth my friend but fortunately i wasn't disappointed when it was time to prove that She's my friend.

Ruth has been my child hood friend, we grew up together and we studied same course in school (nursing) we loved each other so much that we don't have secrets, we share our thoughts and feelings with each other, life was always rosy, her mother was alive and everything was going very well, we always made same clothes for any party, we really had fun while growing up and there was no challenges, so i can say i never knew if she will stick with me during challenges.

Early Febuary 2020 her she lost her mother and that was a terrible time for her, she became depressed and i was always by her side, unfortunately she was still recovering when life challenge strucked me hard, i became devastated but my friend showed that she's that friend during thick and thin, shes not selfish at all.

On that day 23rd Feb 2020, my brother was in a critical condition and i was asked to move him from Aba to Enugu in the next 2 or 3hrs if not i will lose him, i was confused about everything but Ruth was just the back bone and support I needed that time, i have never faced such terrible and tight condition all my life.

Remember my friend just lost her mom, she was still grieving but she left everything and helped me beyond expectation.

when we were asked to move my brother to a hospital that has intensive care unit in a different state and 4hrs driving, i told my friend to go home because people where still visiting her for condolence but my friend said she can't leave me in this state, that i need her assistant now than ever, and honestly i wasn't thinking straight at that point of my life.

She helped me get the ambulance, get the oxygen ready while i ran other errands like stamping the referral letter, at some point I came to realize that I couldn't have done all that alone, Ruth was just a friend in need and indeed.

Even when we get to the hospital, we spent 24hrs without food or water and my friend was just with me, after two days she went home to bring clothes and other things that we needed.

When she got home she saw people who came to pay her a visit but she discharged them and quickly came back to the hospital where i was with my brother.

She had an unselfish love for me, she forgot about herself and focused on me and my challenge that time.
At some point i ran out of money, Ruth immediately brought out her ATM card and supported me financially and she never asked me to repay her till today.

We spent two weeks and my father became seriously ill, Ruth volunteered herself to travel back to our hometown and take care of my father while i stay with my brother in the hospital.

What could I have done without Ruth, who would have taken my Father to the hospital since i and my brother are already in the hospital far away from home.

Ruth was just that friend that lasts through thick and thin, she was not not a selfish person, even though she had her own challenges she was soo unselfish that i never could imagine.

I can never forget those season of my life when i was empty and Ruth filled up that space, yes we are not living in same city anymore but we are still best of friends till tomorrow.

Hundreds of friends who can't help are as good as not having a friend, but just one friend who is committed to the friendship will always do everything to help a friend and that includes when there is an unforseen occurrence that brings d
drastic changes in life.
