Busy Bee Class – Tutorial 2 – Targets for Growth and what is possible!
Good day everyone! Zak Ludick here with another Busy Bee Tutorial. This is a little study group where I have 5 new and small accounts that I Guide through the process of improving the way they blog on Hive and helping them grow.
The guide and series are open to anyone and the advice that is on here is generally fairly good advice that is useful. Currently the class should be busy with the current task from Tutorial 1 – Habits of successful Hivers which is to engage with new people on a daily basis for 1 week and see how that affects the growth of their accounts.
This also is paired with a minimum nominal amount of 3 posts of the week.
My personal max is 14 posts a week with morning posts being a mix of content and evening posts being about my hobby. The hobby posts are used to fund my hobby activities!
But enough about that. Onwards to the subject of Today's lesson!
Targets for Growth
Today's topic has no "Homework". I am trying to make sure that you only have 1 post with homework on it active for the moment.
Setting a target or have some sort of determined goal is a great idea for anyone. In Tutorial 1, the necessary locomotive force for any growth on Hive (without just buying and staking HP) is discussed. IE: All growth on Hive stems from the two pillars of growing on Hive - Posting and Engagement.
All other Tutorials, tips and tricks are merely aspects of those two things.
Luckily for the people on this study group, you will already be on the HIVE PROGRESS - The Busy Bees 2023🐝🐝🐝 Progress Report where you will be able to see your HP this week and last week and it simply tells you what the difference is.
You will also see how many posts you made. Its rather easy. I post these on Sunday and all I do is I count posts that are 7 days old or younger.
With this you can start developing an idea of how your account is growing from week to week based on the amount of Posts you make. What is a bit of a pain for me to track is how much Engagement and the quality of Engagement that you have made during that time.
Along with Topics of Posts chosen and a hundred other little things, I will leave that up to everyone else to figure out. My data is there for you to learn.
If repeating a certain set of actions reliably results in success for you, then continue. If it does not, you may need to look at more successful people on that list and try and learn from them.
Usually when it comes to the Redfish of this Tutorial Class, the most successful Redfish on the Busy Bees Report are the ones who post regularly.
The weekly report will give you some sort of target to work towards... let's have a loot at last week's:
Left to right the columns are: Name, HP last week, HP this week, Difference, Next target and number of posts.
Right, so you can discount @ma3str0 from the posts vs reward example I am making because he had a large amount of unclaimed rewards at the time of making the report. Also discount the posts quantity is @sommylove who is doing a power down. Her earned amount is still far greater than most people who earn only 1 or 0 posts!
After that, we can see that those that are active, generally tend to earn. @riesakashiya was at the bottom of the list at a stage and got up till #57 on the list because posts were happening.
We will look more closely at the actions of Minnows in the future to see what happens when the ball really starts going but let's talk about what is possible on Hive!
What can happen for you on Hive in terms of growth?
Did you know that I started 2022 on 313HP? Thus I was a Redfish!
A very busy Redfish but still on the list above I would have been #50 on the list with 3 Redfish with more HP than myself!
My personal target that year was to end the year on 1000HP!
I totally overshot it and landed on 1,795HP instead! Thus I had earned a total of 1,482HP and the HBD that comes along with it.
I save all the HP that I can but HBD has been there to save me during troubled times. From the start of 2022 till now I have generated an approximate R22,000 in HBD that I have mostly spent when it was needed.
But let’s focus on the HP growth component.
313HP at the start of 2022, plus 1,482HP earned in one year is 1,795HP.
I then decided that I would increase my middling expectation of earning to a soft target of 2000HP to earn for 2023. Because I had made nearly 1,500HP in 2022, aiming at 2,000HP seemed quite possible.
Well I was right and again, I exceeded my expectations! I am currently on 3,743HP, this means that on the 9th of November 2023 I am 52HP away from that +2,000HP goal! I have already earned 1,948HP this year and I still have 7 weeks to earn in on!
My new adjusted target is to reach 4,000HP by the end of 2023! That would make it a growth of roughly 2,205HP for the year… Maybe more.
So should I aim at gaining 3,000HP for 2024? Nearly 10x what I started with 2 years before? (3 years once 2024 is done). That would end my 2024 on a whopping 7,000HP!
And here is the thing, not everyone grows at the same rate but with an established network of powered accounts, we actually make it easier for you to grow! Also one of my students is @jasperdick and he is on 7,235HP right now. His account is a mere 18 months old and look at what he achieved!
So this is the motivation I want to set into perspective for the new newbies: Your growth is exponential. Focus on getting to 50HP, even if it is at 0.5HP at a time. Then proceed to 100HP.
Grind your way to 300HP and then you are in a position where you could easily explode with growth!
This is one of my biggest driving forces on Hive is to assist a whole community of people to become successful and supportive of one another. You all start with vote values lower than $0.001 but I would love to see 100 people grow till they each have a $1 vote and beyond. Just like that, a community of smaller accounts can step in and reward others with life-changing amounts of wealth.
But the journey does not just stop there. There is far more to Hive than just earning money. This is a great platform where you can create a place for your content that truly makes it yours. But more about that later!
Thank you for reading!

Thank you for this! How can I be part of your group? I like how you make growth on the platform seem so achievable!
You are welcome!
Go ahead and check out the Tutorial #1 that I posted a few days ago and join in on the "homework" instructions!
Okay thanks!
That was informative. It's time I start really aiming for 3 posts a week minimum. Thank you for being such an awesome teacher.
My pleasure! I look forward to you passing the first 20HP milestone and then onwards to 50HP!
It is refreshing to meet a mentor who truly understands the struggle of his student following him. A lot of mentors will explain the path but forget the pitfalls and frustrations they faced. Sometimes this causes a disconnect between mentor and student because, although the student is diligent and willing to improve, they face what to the mentor now seems like a molehill - to the student looms like a mountain but in actuality is more like a speed bump. So above all the things that we have to be grateful to you for... I just want to say an extra thank you for being a grounded and connected mentor.
My pleasure and many thanks.
It is indeed about perspective and knowing to guide others from where they are, not where you are.
