This is a post I wanted to do for a while now, but other things kept getting in between.

So, there is this account called @joshuaslane that I have been following for quite a while now that I think deserves some more recognition. Every week it features a pirate themed text game where every hivian can participate just by leaving a comment and an upvote.

At its core the game is pretty basic. The faster you leave a comment and an upvote the higher you move up in the ranks. A new race starts every week and the race is divided in 5 daily posts, giving you a total of five chances to comment faster than the other people and hence move up or down in the race.

The first five people to finish the race get rewarded with the hive earned by those posts. Despite the core of the mechanics being very basic, the game is somewhat fun while giving you the chance to earn some free crypto, largely thanks to the whole pirate theme and the way it is presented. I should also give props to @joshuaslane as the vast majority of the rewards are returned back to the users.

There are some final details that I have omitted, just visit his account and don't forget to leave a comment after checking his posts. On the plus side, your hive power doesn't really matter when it comes to rewards. All that matters is the engagement.

Oh and the now you comment the higher your pirate rank gets. Everytime you get a promo you also get an hbd gift 🥳

I agree, I remember steempocalypse back in the day that was a fun adventure too. I'm enjoying the adventures aboard the mighty Frigate Silverton.

Oh shit I remember this account. I tried to follow years ago but the pirate language was a turn off for me. I'll have to try again, thanks!
