What is Stride?

Stride is more than just a digital token; it's a "movement". Created to foster a culture of support and recognition, Stride allows users to tip content creators, recognize great contributions, and build stronger, more engaged communities. Whether you’re a creator looking for new ways to monetize your work or a fan eager to support your favorite creators, Stride makes it all possible.

Meet the Strider Tipping Bot

The Strider Tipping Bot is your gateway to easily distributing Stride tokens, allowing you to tip Great Striders, show appreciation for walk, hike and running posts, or just spread some goodwill and striding motivations in a few clicks, !STRIDE.

Stride will be made available on the markets each Monday, by the amount of kilometers I’ve walked/ran in the past week, multiplied by 100. As reference, I will use my Strava overview. The starting price of 1STR will be set to 0.01Hive. For each week that more than 50kms were walked, the price will go up with 0.002Hive. Which, in an ideal world, would mean that the price of 1STR will go up with 0.01Hive every year (approximately).

The first batch of 1469STR has just been released on the market:

How to Start Using Stride and the Strider Tipping Bot

Getting started with Stride and the Strider Tipping Bot is a breeze. Whether you're new to digital tokens or a seasoned enthusiast, here's what you need to do:

  1. Acquire Stride (STRD): Purchase or earn Stride tokens.
  2. Choose Your Tier & start tipping: Depending on your holdings, start tipping according to your tier -> Use !STRIDE to tip!
  3. Engage with the Community: Use your tips to support creators, reward great striders, and build connections.

The tiers are:

Tier 1

  • 10 STR
  • 1 Tips per day

Tier 2

  • 100 STR
  • 10 Tips per day

Tier 3

  • 500 STR
  • 25 Tips per day

Tier 4

  • 1000 STR
  • 50 Tips per day

Tier 5

  • 2500 STR
  • 100 Tips per day

Tier 6

  • 5000 STR
  • 250 Tips per day

Tier 7

  • 100000 STR
  • 1000 Tips per day

Hi @acidyo! Certainly! Yes, Badass Botlord @borniet and I have set up 4 new tipping bots so far, @hopelizer/!HOPE/HOP, @indeedly/!INDEED/IDD, this one @thestrider/!STRIDE, and @weirdly/!WEIRD/WRD, with more to come, and we're in the planning stage integrating them into a larger MMB (Maximum Mutual Benefit) Meta-Project. We will continue to maintain and develop all individual projects, like this one, as a part of MMB. We're two Hivers that love and believe in the Blockchain, and we want to create something truly incredible for the Hive community, with generating Maximum Mutual Benefit being our intention and focus. @borniet is the one who is doing the coding and backed setup and maintenance of the bots, with me doing a good bit of spreading the word about what we're creating, spreading the token love, and both of us coming up with ideas to make it all work. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I like the idea of extra tokens including tipping bots although it can be annoying when used excessively.

Are the ideas you and @borniet have already worked out? It would be nice to have a token and tipping bot for my cycling community to promote cycling related posts.

Yes, I do agree with that, @friendlymoose. When I use them in multiples my intention is to give value to those I'm tipping, and also to match tips that people give me. I don't ever want to overload anyone's comment section.

We're still the process of discussing and implementing various features for the present bots and tokens, and for future ones, which will all be a part of our MMB (Maximum Mutual Benefit) Meta-Project. I believe that getting a tipping bot set up and running for your cycling community could be accomplished without much difficulty at all. I'll send your reply to @borniet in our Discord chat. He's been super busy in his life over the past few weeks, so it might take a little time to get it set up, but I'll make sure that one of us contacts you about details once their clear. Who is behind this?

the tier system doesn't make much sense, I'd lower the max amount of tips you can give out based on the tier, if you give people the option to tip 1000x per day it's only going to encourage spam and bot activity rather than genuine actions.

Thanks for your comment and suggestion! I see indeed what you mean, and it's a valid point! Do you have any suggestion for the max tier, while still also giving people a good worth for the amount of STR they hold?
I'm currently still in Beta, so changes will follow.

Well don't really have too much time to give you more suggestions on how to improve this but there's been a lot of these tip tokens over time with most just ending up being abused/spammed like there's no tomorrow.

We have been putting anti spam measures in place, to prevent this as much as possible. But there’s always room for improvement of course. We will use your advice for sure!
